Of course it is...and he will probably be with Cleveland when he does it.

Cutler apparently rallied the troops with a rousing pregame speech. When asked about it on Sportcenter, Jeffrey basically said he was shocked because he had never heard Cutler say anything remotely motivating before, though he wouldn't go so far to say that it was really that inspiring. More surprising.

Cutler will make a lot of people on the Bears defense rich that day.

After the bye:
@ Bucs
@ Giants
Titans
49ers
@ Lions
Packers
Redkins
@ Vikings

4 more wins? Just enough to miss out on top of draft QBs?

I've had instances before where a coach appoints a person team captain where the coach's perception of locker room leadership is much different than that of the players. That person then assumes the mantle and ends up looking like Bluto running out of the frat house after making his Pearl Harbor speech.

If that is a "good" game for Cutler then he probably isn't better than Hoyer.

Why was it a good game for him?

Agreed.

The standard for a Jay Cutler good game is not turning the ball over.

The standard for a Brian Hoyer good game is throwing for nearly 400 yeard and multiple touchdowns. And not turning the ball over.

Hoyer scored 17 and lost to Jacksonville. Cutler scored 20 and beat Minnesota. Hoyer specializes in empty yards. I agree with vegan though, they are roughly equally as bad, just different styles. Last night wasn't a good game for Cutler though. If Minnesota didn't have stone hands he would've had about three picks.

Yeah, I can see 7-9 here if this defense can get relatively healthy.

Hoyer didn't have Howard go crazy.

Hoyer didn't have Howard go crazy.

Hoyer also only put 17 and 23 up against Detroit and Indy, two of the worst defenses in the NFL, and Howard played great in both games. Howard looks to be part of a strong draft class Pace brought in though.

The emergence of Howard may the best thing this season has wrought.

I don't find this argument to be convincing. Cutler also put up 14 against Houston and Philadelphia.

If anything, Cutler and Hoyer don't really make a difference.

I already stated that they are the same and both are bad, and that Cutler didn't play well last night. I'm not arguing that Cutler is good.

Also, Houston, Philly, and Minnesota have 10x better defenses than Indy, Jax, and Detroit.

If you come out with Whitehair, Howard and Floyd establishing themselves, that will be progress. I think we can already put a floor of starter level competency on Whitehair.

I really look forward to deiandre hall getting back on the field in the second half as well

Goldman looks like he could be really good too. I'd want to see him back with the rest of the front 7 healthy.

The defense overall has shown some improvement this year, despite all the injuries.

no shit that was fucking brutal. everyone was saying 'wow cutler played great last night! hes a winner!" yea, not as bad as he has played in the past... but he overthrew at least 3 guys badly... and the one guy he was on target was a decoy for the play! he didnt turn around right on that one handoff either.

the dude is NOT accurate. strong arm, poor decision making. thats about it.

i think he had a talk with pace and they colluded a plan to get him out of chicago. all he has to do is run out there every week acting like the hero and be excited and everything and someone out there will think hes reborn and pay to get him on their side.

Speaking of Cutler those handoffs were the most awkward I have seen in a long time.
