Trying to sneak Kluber in 2x on short rest, not so much. They had to though, everyone else would've been shelled.

Indians had MANY chances to win. Entertaining series, but Cleveland choked.

Cleveland didn't choke.
Truthfully the Cubs were more than they could handle.
They're just plain a better team.

That's claptrap. The series went to extra innings in the seventh game and Cleveland without their best everyday player and half their starting rotation. I'm not saying the Cubs didn't deserve to win. They won. But to say that they are "just plain better", there's really no evidence to support that.

I think it's fair to say that blowing a 3-1 lead is choking, even if it is against a better team. It really doesn't matter either way though.

To say a team decimated with injuries choked is stupid ....but it's... coming from you nevermind :)

That same Cleveland team beat the piss out of Toronto and Boston.

Well, I wouldn't say they choked. The Cubs pitching was just in better shape when it came down to the end. And that horrible Cleveland outfield play isn't choking, that's just who those guys are.

Oh, IMU. Losing 4 straign games in the World Series is getting dominated, not choking.

Blowing a 3-1 lead, dropping a flyball 3 batters in to game 6 at home is choking.

And the Cubs took advantage, which is what great teams do. Hats off to them.

And they were beating the piss out of the Cubs. Did you forget that? Good for the Cubs for coming back down 3-1, but to make a statement like the Cubs are appreciably better is kind of silly.

Cubs finished with 114 wins.
Indians finished with 104 wins.

Hence the Cubs are better.

"Choking" is one of the most overused words in sports. What does it even mean? That they get so overcome with anxiety that they can't function?

A more likely reason is that the Indians had to face Lester, Arrieta, and Hendricks, and their ace was gassed in game 7.

The Indians didn't choke. But they took a lazy approach to Game 6. It felt like they were playing knowing there would be a Game 7.

They are when Schwarber is in the lineup.

They WERE beating the Cubs, right up until they weren't. The Cubs aren't responsible for who they face. They played and beat the team that the Indians fielded. They were better.

Well when you have your ace who shut them down 2x going in game 7 that might've played into it a bit.

Cleveland did very well to beat Boston and Toronto and proved the worthy opponent in the World Series. Shoutout supported.

I totally underestimated Cleveland coming into the playoffs, but they were the real deal running through Boston and Toronto. Lindor is going to be a stud in this league for years to come. If they can remain healthy next year, I can't see how they aren't back in at least the ALCS.

Cleveland did more with less than any postseason team. They will be back next season with a chip on their shoulder.
