sucks.

I am going to throw Chicago Cut into this as well.

Both places seem to be have taken over from Gibson's as the place to spot celebs. You would think the food and service justify the publicity. They do not. You go to these places and think it must be you if you don't like them because everyone else seems to rave about their product. Don't be fooled by either.

Each has provided lousy service. It seems like they both employ young and inexperienced wait staff. Even worse though, the food is mediocre. How do you last in this town as a steak restaurant when you serve an inferior product?

Don't bother with either of these restaurants. All hype.

I went to Chicago Cut and thought it was the best steak I've ever had. I've never been to Ocean Cut.

Another place that's gaining steam is a Swift and Sons.

I've been to Chicago Cut twice. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. I enjoyed my breakfast much more and that says all you need to know about their steaks.

The poached eggs and corned beef hash were very good.

Friends that went said it was good but I'd trust you on this one. That's disappointing because I love going out for seafood.

old high school buddy of mine, Dave Flom, is one of the owners. Guy has done very well for himself, starting out in the front of the house at Rosebud Steak house, now owns a couple hot shot restaurants.

I've never been to either though, but hear great things. But, all those downtown steak houses are a rip off no matter how good the steak is.

In regards to service: I ordered stone crab, the waiter brought out king crab and then said some condescending shit about crab being crab. Even if that were true (which it isn't) I ordered something and you messed it up. Don't piss on my leg and tell me its raining.

In regards to food quality: the stone crabbed sucked anyway

I don't like Chicago Cut either.

But a waiter in a seafood place talking about any "crab being crab" is hilarious. If I were the gm &heard that gem, he'd have been fired on the spot.

if that we're the case I'm gonna start asking all waiters to please substitute king crab or stone crab claws for any crab I order from now on..after all, crab is crab.

Just like with eggs, always put ketchup on your steak.

Food is okay at Chicago Cut; I just can't stand the décor...it's like a fishbowl.
