I don't like DiCaro types any more than anyone else, but this is becoming one of the most overused acronyms of 2016. #2016

It needs to go in the dumpster with "awesome sauce".

you know what this reminds me of? something like 2-3 years ago there was some #HashtagJustice campaign to #BanBossy, meaning the term "bossy" in the context of being used to describe a female. here's how the fine fine people at banbossy.com describe their mission...

banbossy.com wrote:
When a little boy asserts himself, he's called a “leader.” Yet when a little girl does the same, she risks being branded “bossy.” Words like bossy send a message: don't raise your hand or speak up. By middle school, girls are less interested in leading than boys—a trend that continues into adulthood. Together we can encourage girls to lead.

upon reading this i became instantly incredulous and had an instant/gut reaction of "ok if you wanna get rid of 'bossy' that's all fine and good, but you're going to have to do something for the guys too; in that spirit i suggest banning the word 'creepy'. honestly, creepy is way more prevalent, if not ubiquitous, than bossy could ever dream of being (seriously, who the fuck actually goes around calling chicks "bossy" ??) and furthermore there's waaaayyyy more of a negative connotation to 'creepy' than there is to 'bossy', which actually is just a nicer and ironically-more-PC way of calling a girl a bitch.

obviously, i had to come up with a mission statement for the cause/movement/#HashtagJustice so here's what i got

bancreepy.com wrote:
When a clueless girl asserts herself to garner male attention, she's called a "flirt." Yet, when a little boy does the same, he risks being branded "creepy." Words like "creepy" send a message: don't look at girls or especially try to talk to them. By middle school, awkward, yet often well-intentioned boys are less inclined to try and talk to girls than vice versa-- a trend that continues into adulthoodl if the affected boys even technically make it there, because the kind of oft-permanent damage that the word creepy inflicts upon a boy's psyche often results in a desire for themselves to remain a veritable "manchild" ad infinitum.

indeed, i'd maintain that if a guy calls a girl "bossy" he's actually (ironically?) trying to be somewhat positive and provide an euphemism for "bitch" because i reckon that he clearly wants to like her, so he waters down the language to soften the blow of his unfortunate observation that this girl has probably been sued for slander by female dogs a few times in her life. conversely, when a girl calls a guy" creepy" she's almost-obviously going out of her way to slag the guy off as some kind of "unworthy" specimen of male. because "bossy" tends to almost exclusively exist as that aforementioned euphemism (which is most likely the #1 reason it's targeted here; "the powers that wannabe" are attempting to take away a subtle/r means of conveying that some girl is a bitch, which i figure has to be some kind of formally-named logical fallacy where, example, you can't technically call someone a bitch because "they" have effectively removed all the words/terms requisite for accurately conveying such an observation without immediate social consequence.

in other words, it's effectively trying to accomplish "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" by removing the WORD evil and some of its top synonyms. if successful, one could claim that they effectively wiped all evil off of the face of the earth, even if only by virtue of the fact that you're not allowed to say the word "evil" anymore, which is basically the bizarro version of "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" because instead of "denying" one's sensory apparatuses in regards to "evil" you're simply trying to "augment" one's sensory apparatuses with an authoritative declaration that there is no evil (if that makes sense)

furthermore "creepy" tends to function in a way more inherently social/interpersonal manner: how many times have you guys mentioned to a buddy that you're thinking about asking some chick out, only to have one of your friends go "don't go there dude! i know somebody who dated [her] and he told me that she's really bossy! seriously, next time you see spmack post "Would." go ahead and respond with "but camps, everyone knows that she's bossy as hell!" and =] as you can envision him slinking back into his chair letting out an exasperated sigh while thinking "why do all the hot ones always gotta be bossy?" -- yeah, you know DID. NOT. HAPPEN. is a thing on this board because of hypothetical situations like this.

on the other hand, how many times can you envision the vice versa where some girl says that a guy asked her out and her friends instantly dive in with something like "what the hell are you thinking girl? that guy's creepy has hell! and creepy is totally nebulous... for all you know it could mean "calls you up excitedly a few too many times after you gave him your # when you agreed to go out on a date with him next saturday" to " i'm pretty sure those are legit human skulls in his grandma's basement" all the way to "he hung out at my house once and 'disappeared' for 30-45mins and ever since then whenever my dog sees him he always runs away from him in fear and terror while making a desperate squealing noise that makes me start to cry" --- you just don't know with "creepy" because it's way too versatile a word.

and i guarantee (read: make an edumacated guess) that "creepy" is typically applied to ~75-95% "harmless" guys who just have no idea wtf they're doing when they try to "man up" and approach a some "bossy" chick who scoffs at the loser and starts making fun of him right away to her friends, liberally applying the C word in much the same way you're NOT supposed to call her "bossy" because, man, what kind of example are we setting for the children? (#KidsLettersToCreeps when?)

TLDR = LOL SINI I BET IT'S BEEN AT LEAST 10 YEARS SINCE LAST FELT THE LOVING EMBRACE OF A WOMYN!!!!

lol guys comeon you know it's only been 8yrs 10 months and 13 days.... ibit who's Keeping Score here? no seriously i'm asking who KS is on the board; you know you can[t oust das [b]bagman from the C/S/FMB and not have guys lliek KS, Dropin, and [redacted] >=][/size]

The two aren't mutually exclusive. They're both bad. Giving them a label is also playing right into their hands.

You are giving them too much credit. They just find something to bitch about.

I'm not sure who is worse. SJW's, or the people who follow every SJW story and bitch about it endlessly on the internet.

as an overused term i think xenophobe probably has it beat. bonus points because most people who use it didn't even know it existed prior to 2015.
