dont even bother, its going to be an f150. id rather have a 250, but this will be my only vehicle so saving the extra gas will help... a regular truck is bad enough as it is.
whats your advice on the loan? ive been pricing, and 5 year old f150's with around 100k miles can be had for $15000 if you search enough... that seems to be what my comfortable range is. no way im spending 25k+ on a truck, fuck that. my last truck was a ranger that cost 7k, and it had 125k miles on it. it looked and ran like new, and i drove it for 10 years and it has 300k miles on it now. it was a fine automobile, but its too rusty to enjoy anymore (there is literally holes through the body to inside). fucker does run great still though... sigh...
anyway, my bank can finance me $10k at 2.49% on a 36 month lease... i would put 5k down. should i go this route? or go third party, with something like a 48 or 60 month loan for 3.5% or so? the monthly payments with my local bank would be like $350 a month, which isnt horrible but that does put me right at half my income going to bills (rent, utility, car). it would mean i would have around $300 a week for food, gas, fuckin around and savings. i know that seems fine, but if you figure gas and food alone is at least $100 a week, and i like to save $100 a week, that leaves $100 a week on average for anything else.
a longer loan could mean another $100 a month.. which wouldnt make a big difference. but then again, i cant imagine 5 years from now still making payments on my fucking truck... probably best to do a 3 year loan, especially on a used truck...
