Mac, I'm almost proud of you. Vowing to not return to work until Finji is freed from the shackles of L Justin's oppressive regime? Very admirable. But you should come out from behind the cloak of bacteria.

Solidarity now!!

That's funny, Beardown. Like it. COme on down to the ranch some time. We'll milk the cows... then churn our own butter. We'll change the oil in the combine... then bail some hay. When we're done... we can share a bottle of Southern Comfort with our sisters... then nail 'em.

I have many, many flaws... but I am a man of extreme loyalty. Coppock scraped me off the pavement in 1988 and it is a privilege to be in his corner again. As for Ben, he was with me in 2000 as an intern at the Score. I was not at my best in those days. He interned for me again in '01 at ESPN, then took a gig with us the following year after he graduated from U of I. His loyalty to ME and my shows always will be reciprocated. He's been wronged... and the time is now to affect change at our little shop. That aside, I am amidst a brutal cold and fever and am legitmately sick.

Two things I have learned in this thread and the first being none of us listen to Chet and secondly, Mac won't drop dime on the behind the scenes stuff and break some news to his biggest fans in his own thread..PUSSY

Hurry back your show blows without you.

Eating healthy, losing weight and quitting drinking will, apparently, make you sick. Man up.
Have a drink and loosen up a little, you're far more interesting, likable and entertaining that way.

Technically Mac, Swan Song had several artists on board.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swan_Song_Records

Granted none of them were showstoppers, but it would be disingenuous to say Bad Company was the ONLY other artist on Swan Song.

Mac won't tell and defers to the Management team ..See the Craig and Pastor thread.

I got the feeling Mac was a little glib on the air today and I could tell there seems to a discontenet is his voice and that could be from sitting next to Harry but I can tell he didn't want to be there. Carm did a nice job today by the way.

C'mon - let's not get paranoid, here. Everybody is assuming that there are suspensions involved. I don't know. And I don't think you do either. So, Mac took a couple sick days and suddenly its THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN meets THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE.

Which would make a great cyber-comic, come to think of it.

Exactly...because we've seen members of the MJH panel in this predicament before. And going by how those situations were handled, we have no reason NOT to assume that Finji is getting punished because of something.

We knew Mac was legitamently sick, and Jukro sounded like horseshit on Wednesday (as opposed to..? ;) ) so it made sense that he took a day off as well.

Couldn't it just be a cancellation of the Post Game Show, throw PTI at 6, start the Show at 6:30 and move on?

I hope I'm "glib" everyday... to some extent.

SG, you're the man... and I'm a big fan of the Salisbury avatar... but I think you're reading into Thursday's show far too much. I'm still sick... and I can't force myself to feign enthusiasm of North Carolina-Duke (or anything else for that matter). I thought it was best to just lay out and let Bubbles and Carmio kick it around. Passenging, like driving, is a skill.

I also flag on Harry when he defends Reinsdorf on everything. The chairman could microwave parakeets, be implicated in a child pornography scandal, rob a bank and firebomb a nursing home and Harry would lean on "how accessible" he is at the Cell.

As for Carmen... I too am a big fan. He is passionate... knowledgable... more opinionated than ever... and ... his language skills have improved enormously in the past year. Can't say that about his ex-wife, Silvy, who recently bemoaned not having a jumbotron at Wrigley so he could "re-see" close plays. The man wasn't at SIU the day they taught English. But... I like his show very much, too.

Whenever Carmen fills in for one of you guys, he tends to do a very good job. Hoodie was pretty good filling in for you the other day too, Mac.

That's crazy - we all know the only way to properly cook a parakeet is to slow roast over charcoal witha nice ginger and lime rub - NOT GAS OR MICROWAVE!

I guess I meant Gloomy more than Glib.A few Capt and cokes will get you confused at 3pm . I know this time of year sucks and when you have to resort to talking about out of state college hoops, I know it's a "get me the fuck out of here week" for ya .

There really seems to be a bit of a hangover once the NFL raps up and I really don't know what to do untill baseball starts. This has to be the longest fucken Winter since 1978 with the cold and snow and if I don't get some Sun and warmth I might go crazy like the rest of the country seems to be doing.

I agree with your evaluation of Carmen's recent progress. While Carmen and Silvy were great together, Carmen's hosting skills seemed to regress substantially after that show met its demise. I guess that just goes to show you what the impolitic cruelty of separating two young lovers can do to the fragile human psyche. In any event, Carmen has recently rebounded, emerging as a more informed, opinionated and witty broadcaster than he ever was when he was paired with Silvy. He's a good listen.

I also agree that Silvy needs to improve his command of the English language (though I enjoy his show quite a bit). Somebody get that guy a high school vocab book.
