fact is nuclear weapons changed everything. it made it clear the world can cease to exist at any moment. somebody has to keep that from happening. as much as it seems like it sucks that most of our money goes towards the military, the reason it does is because without our world policing military there probably would have been a nuclear holocaust by now.
