For a little bit I thought maybe I was too harsh on him when he first came over and everyone else told me to relax. But at some point you have to stop looking at potential. It's tough because this team is already bereft of three point shooting but you have to get rid of this guy

I think he misses Thibs more than anyone. If you look at where he was trending at the end of Year 1 we all thought he would at least be an all star. He started last year on the same level and then fell off. I'm not sure if it's confidence or something else.

Perhaps but Thibs didn't play him in the playoffs. They need to move him. He only shot 40% during his rookie season and that is supposed to be his strength. That was the first red flag for me. He is undisciplined and extremely soft defensively. Plus he is a hybrid 4. Hate those. Gotta move him.

Yeah he has to go. I thought he was going to be a poor man's Dirk. Definitely disappointed and wished they traded him.

He certainly is not what they thought he was. His shooting percentage is abysmal.

He looks like a poor man's Matt Bullard.

Perhaps Tom would like to trade for him then.

Didn't the famed "Bobcats' pick" we had in our back pocket years ago become Mirotic?

I agree. It's time to move on.

If he figures it out somewhere else then so be it. As it stands now, you'll get a decent rebounding effort from him most nights but his shot selection and defensive lapses just kill you out there.

And I've harped on this quite a bit, but when you have both him and McDermott on the floor at the same time you're at a serious disadvantage on the defensive end. I can stomach that with McDermott only because I trust his offense more than I do Niko's and the Bulls do need scoring.

No, Mirotic was drafted awhile ago and stashed in Europe for a few years.

I don't even remember what happened with the Charlotte pick. Can't find any info on it.

The Bulls need some professional assistant coaches. None of the young players except McDermott have improved.

Ahh yes, the team perpetually in need of creators using two picks on a guy who can't create. I remember that now.

he looks so lost and scared out there. Always out of place on offense, trying to get more space. He plays like a guy that's up a level too high in talent.

Yeah you can't have them both out there at the same time. I like McDermott better than Mirotic. Better shot selection and a slightly more versatile offensive player.

Paxson missed on Lavine when he drafted McDermott. If Lavine never gets any better he will still be a better pro than McDermott. Paxson has been gunshy about drafting "upside" guys since Tyrus Thomas. This is a good example of where it has come back to burn him. Probably figured Thibs wouldn't play him anyway and McDermott was considered more NBA ready at the time.

Trading up for McDermott really hurt them. Hes a bust too.

He is about where I thought he'd be. Never thought he was anything special but they believed that they had a guy that would be an 18-20 point scorer. He will hang around the league until he is about 32 33 years old because he can score. I wouldn't label him a bust because he was drafted 11th. It is a crap shoot once you get past the first five picks. Sometimes it is a crap shoot even before then.

He's not a top 8 rotation guy on a good team, and probably won't ever be. Crapshoot or not that's a bust for the 11th overall pick, especially since you traded up to get him.

Yup, and it's not just the 11th pick, it was the 11th pick and an additional one.

Paxson didn't miss. Paxson onlt missed on Tyrus. McDermott and Snell and all the bums were Gar's selections. Butler was the last Paxson pick.

If I remember correctly I think they traded the 16th and the 19th to move up to 11.

There are three guys taken after McDermott that I'd rather have off top. Lavine. Kid in Denver from Europe and I think the Center from Houston. Capella is his name I believe.
