Banged up O-Line,a WR corp with a bunch of Arena league talent due to injury yet he has the Bears right there every week. I'm fine with Barkley,Hoyer and Shaw next season. Draft another playmaker at WR or TE with that high pick.

I don't know that he sucks ... I can't see a team getting far in the playoffs with him at the helm though.

Don't judge him after playing the Packers' no pressure zone. ANYONE can complete passes against that D.

Pencil him in for the next 10 to 15 years.

He has a bit of a noodle arm but plenty of noodle arms have had great NFL careers. He seems to have a knack for timing with his recievers. He had one boneheaded pick, another shitty pass where his lack of arm strength betrayed him and the Hail Mary failure....but other than that he was pretty on. He has spread the ball around better than Cutler ever did. Meredith, Bellamy and Jeffery all had great production today. For a team relying on Kevin White to come back and contribute (lets not debate whether this reliance is good or bad idea...) that's a promising sign.

He had all day vs a Zone D. You can not judge him until you see him calling audibles and against a varied defense of zone and man. Today was literally like playing madden for him. He also seems to have a pretty boy trait in him which is expected from a USC QB.

He threw for 365 yards in single digit weather. Brought the team back from 17 down. But let's reach for the North Carolina Qb in the first round! Barkley is a steal. Looks like a starter, and he should be given the chance next season. Upgrade the line and add another receiver. See what he can do.

Also, he's well past "decent backup" at this point. He's already been better than Osweiler.

Looks can be very deceiving in a small sample size.

By all means bring the guy back next year and let him compete for the starting spot with a QB they draft.

In no way shape or form should they go into this offseason under the assumption that they now have their starter for next year.

I predict the qb picked with or after the Bears pick has a much better career than Barkley.

I want to find an elite qb. I don't want to settle on a guy hoping he is Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Might have to franchise him now that the league has seen what he's got.

I agree with you. I want to find that elite QB as well.

But doesn't this go against what you have argued for in the past? I mean you wanted the Bears to keep Kyle Fitzpatrick as their QB instead of taking a chance on Cutler.

I'm not sold on Barkley as the future, but I do know this: he is a better overall QB than Cutler. If Cutler is the starting QB next year, the entire front office should be fired.

What's all the hype? He's probably going to be kept around anyway because we need all the help we can get at the position, especially with Jay (hopefully) leaving. Remember this is a dude who couldn't beat Mike Vick and then some other flash in the pan dude (he got traded to St Louis then released, can't remember his name) in Philly despite being their fourth round pick. Not like we hit the jackpot here...probably.

In all seriousness, he should be brought back to compete and likely be a good backup. That said, they shouldn't just reach for a QB in the 1st round. Draft the best player available and try to find a value QB in a lower round.

Completely agree. Can't go into the draft thinking you have to take a QB with the first pick even if all the QB's aren't worthy of a top 5 selection.

No I didn't. The price was too high and they held on way too long but Cutler had more elite potential. If you could only choose one you pick Cutler. I didn't think Cutler had a good chance of becoming elite but it was a higher chance than Orton.

I believe the closest thing I said to that was that I'd rather have the draft picks even if Orton bombed because we wouldn't be locked into him long term.

Agreed. The also have Connor Shaw who might be able to develop as well.

Go into camp next year with Barkely, Shaw, and a rookie as your QBs. Maybe Barkley leaves camp as the starter, and then by week 9 or 10 he is holding a clipboard as the other guy has now taken over for good.

I agree with Frank. Hopefully Barkley can be our Case Keenum.

That was among the best 4 turnover QB performances I have ever seen from a Bears QB.

Oslo your ass....one TO was a harmless Hail Mary & the other was getting blindsided by that old-timer stealing money from the NFL for the last 5 years by making an occasional big play,Julius Peppers.
