Bon Iver -- 22 A Million

I only purchased a handful of albums this year and this is the only one I would recommend. Looking forward to trying some of
the albums you have listed above Bagels, next week Tuesday through Thursday is Penske File time and I would love to try some
new tunes.

Check out Winter Wheat by John K. Samson. Parts of it are supposed to be a rewrite of Neil Young's On the Beach.

I should give that Minor victories another shot
I listened to once and it felt like a chore to get through
But I like the groups that compose it obv

A friend of mine told me to listen to that school of seven bells and never got around to that either

And I realize I forgot the Tribe Called Quest album, Id add that for sure

I guess I am just stuck in rock from the 70-90's. I just about ignore any new efforts from bands of those eras as well. I may have caught some of that new stuff on the radio in the car and may have liked it or even tapped my toe. I just don't take the time to find out it is or consume it.

Some of the stuff my kids listen to is catchy but usually short lived pop.

It's not from 2016, it's 2014, but go get Ryan Adams's self-titled album, which is as about as close to Neil Young & Crazy Horse as anyone's gotten.

Ryan's boy Butch Walker's release was pretty decent this year too.

La Femme - Mystère

It's pretty good. You'll feel some early 2000's nostalgia in it. If you skip the lyrical content (should be easy it's all in French) and it's about as unpretentious an album as you'll hear.

Although a bit more mainstream now, I forgot to add the new Lumineers album "Cleopatra"

Saw them open up for Imagine Dragons a few years ago. Their bass was turned up so high I thought my heart was literally going to explode inside my chest. Other than that, they put on a great show.

I enjoyed

Twenty-One Pilots
The Struts
Bastille
Saint Motel
888
Nothing but Thieves
Young the Giant

Is their a beta summer festival? This would be a great lineup for one.

run the jewels is the #1 rap group i feel like i'm supposed to like over the last 2 years.... i'll get around to them at some point, lord knows that el-p has been solid for a long time, what with can ox and company flow and all that... hell, he even got to rap on a cut with latyrx circa 98-99, which is before they pretty much became soulless yuppies (that 2nd album was probably my biggest musical disappointment for this decade tbh)

but that said, man, when you wanna talk about the best rap song *my crazy ass* heard in 2016? it comes from a hamburger helper mixtape dropped on april fools day... FEED THE STREETS!! #SolidGoldMetaphor and all that.
