CLH was right. This city is beautiful.

Went to a great hole in the wall seafood spot. Checked out the maritime museum. Wife got some shopping done. Also talked a dispensary into giving my wife some free buds.

Hitting up the beaches tomorrow.

Any recommendations for this city are welcome.

We're having our broker outing at the Coronado Hotel in May. I can't wait. I'll probably bring the family out early. Great city.

My friend owns Lefty's, which is a Chicago pizza/foods restaurant and bar. I'm sure he'd love to host you

It is one of the few places I've gone where I question why I don't just move there. It has its own problems but it isn't as obvious as other "nice places to live" when you are there a few days.

If i ever had a lottery type windfall, I'd move to Coronado. But the housing prices are awfully high, $1.5M for a Berwyn sized bungalow. So I just put aside money to go visit about every nine months.

The Top Gun bar is fun and the BBQ is pretty good for a place like that.

The Zoo is obviously pretty good but honestly I'm not sure it was superior to Brookfield.

The rooftop bar at the Hard Rock is pretty cool too.

Same. The weather is always pleasant. The biggest issue is cost of living. Its insane to purchase a home there.

The high home prices keep the blacks out therefore making it a "nice place to live". At least I think that's how it goes .

Trust me on this...best seafood tacos ever...http://bluewaterseafoodsandiego.com/pretty close to the airport for those getting in around lunch time.

Also recommend checking out old town. Very interesting from an historic standpoint, tons of unique shops and homemade tortillas throughout. :alien:

It is everything you hope for and more. Call to reserve the Champions table if you can.

LoL... Blue water is the spot we went to yesterday. I got the mahi mahi sandwich, and my wife got the chilled shrimp and crab. I was blown away by the fresh taste.

We're going to this brunch place near the zoo, so I think we'll swing by old town after that. Planning on Coronado later this afternoon.

Will have to check that out. My routine is to take the 7am out and land at 10, get a rental car, and drive to Point Loma Seafoods for shrimp and crab, then drive over to Coronado and wish I had picked a different profession.

I posted this on Spaulding's thread - if anybody doesn't mind middle seats, United is only $295 to San Diego for flying out of Chicago tomorrow and flying back on 1/1.

If we have time I want to stop here. Seems like it's THE craft brew out here. They sell it everywhere.
