Visit the Ballast Point brewery.

If we have time I want to stop here. Seems like it's THE craft brew out here. They sell it everywhere.
Be sure to have an Anchor Steam too.

There's 2 Lefty's joints. I can wait until I get back home for Chicago pizza tho. Unless Lefty is going to hook it up because Good dolphin told him to.

Absolutely agree Brick. The homeless situation is out of control, but San Diego is easily top 3 cities I've ever been to.

Their flagship brewery location is ridiculous. A cross between a brewery with Vegas opulence.

My buddy lives out there and says that not a week goes by where he doesn't have to actively avoid stepping in homeless people poop.

There are worse places to be homeless I guess. If it ever comes to that for me, I'm panhandling until I have enough to afford a bus ticket to SD.

Yeah, South Beach has a similar homeless situation. You gotta give it to them, the homeless may spend all their donated $ on shot bottles of 99 bananas, but they def know the best spots to be a vagrant.

If you're serious I'll let you know later. Could be a nice idea for a quick meal later tonight.

I'm sure he can find some Anchor Steam at an establishment.

Stone and Green Flash are good San Diego breweries, Jbi11s.

I've eaten at the Miramar location a couple of times. Too much IPA for me, but it's a solid place.

Have not visited the brewery, but have had a few of their beers and not a fan...WAY too hoppy.

San Diego kicks ass. Beautiful. I'll be there end of February for my step-son's Marine Graduation.

San Diego has a ton of breweries. Ballast Point isn't the best. Try Societe, Lost Abbey, AleSmith, or Pizza Port.

For breakfast try Broken Yolk in PB. Mission Beach has some good beach bars for relaxing and people watching. Try any hole in the wall place for good fish tacos or a California burrito.

Stone and Ballast Point are two of the biggest (craft brew) breweries in the US. Fuck stone. Ballast point is good but you can literally buy their stuff everywhere now that they are a billion dollar brewery. Alesmith gets around but they still aren't huge. Pizza Port with the Port brewing beer at ocean beach is great. Nickel Brewing up on the mountain is good. Alpine was great and ridiculously small but I think they closed and one of the other breweries makes their shit now.

Still open. But Green Flash makes their stuff for national distribution.

The various taprooms we went around had the Alpine made Alpine beers.

If you're going to PB at all, check out Barrel Republic. It's a pretty unique place where you open a tab with a guy at the front desk. He then gives you a key card that you then waves at the 40 or so taps. The tap then pours however many ounces you want.

A good way of getting a lot of small tasters of stuff.

Green Flash inquired about behind the plate advertising at Petco. It was way more than they could spend so they bought a seat back there and put a guy in a Green Flash t-shirt there. The Padres and their brewing partners were not happy.
