IIRC Bernstein was invited to, and attended, Greenberg's wedding in NY (or where ever it was on the east coast).

To echo what sinicalypse and a few others have said, it's interesting that they spent about four hours reminiscing on Terry's first seven years with Mac and maybe one on his last seventeen with Senor. Even that's generous because the 5 p.m. hour was mostly the one-on-one with Matt about how deep their friendship grew, and then whatever Leery was going on about, I dunno, I went to get Steak n Shake and that was when I was in the drive-thru so I wasn't really able to catch it.

But to listen to this show, Terry, Mac, and their producers helped build the Score up from nothing, created something that Chicago radio had never heard before and never will again, during which time Terry had depression and wanted to quit his job, but engaged listeners, supportive co-workers/bosses, and an unbelievable esprit de corps helped him redefine the media landscape, and it's a time we'll never forget.

Then Terry did another show for over two decades, and, uh, a guy with some throat condition was on Comcast Sportsnet one time and it was a funny soundbite.

I mean, I guess you could argue that the show before Christmas was the Boers & Bernstein farewell show and naturally this one would focus on everything else Terry did, but if you ever thought B&B were just coasting and not adding anything since, oh let's just pick a completely random point in time and say the Penn State scandal, well, fuel for the fire, I guess.

Oh and good lord Beardown shut the fuck up about the ice girl.

How long have you listened to the Score? Bernstein began his career as a oratorical populist in keeping with Score tradition. He didn't significantly alter his on-air persona--and the trajectory of the station--until 2002 or so, when he and Boers began focusing on the culture of sports and sports fandom rather than sports per se. This shift in tone and substance also marked Bernstein's transition from an ideological liberal to a neoliberal who manifested his political metamorphosis by cultivating an aesthetic of humiliation--akin to that of early reality TV--on the radio.

All of this is another way of saying that Bernstein seems to have been a very different person in the first decade of his career than he is today.

At the very least, they had a strong professional relationship that Bernstein has mentioned in the past. The way he talks about it, it sounds like Greenber served as a mentor in the early part of his career. The fact that Greenberg wanted Bernstein to jump ship to ESPN and invited him to his wedding isn't insignificant.

Your opinion that the facts I am discussing are opinions is erroneous. Bernstein used to talk about his career trajectory fairly frequently in his looser, more improvisational, pot-smoking days (which he also used to allude to on the air). His on-air persona has shifted pretty significantly over the past two decades.
