Jeff Dickerson in for Silvy.

Waddle was asking Jeff Dickerson what stage name he would choose if he didn't want anyone to know who he was and Jeff Meller chimed in and said "Danny Parkins."

Danny may have a WAR of zero right now, but much of the ESPN programming is below zero.

I'd say "Jeff Meller".

IIRC Parkins worked at AM1000 so it might have been a good-natured shot and not a dickish shot.

Still kind of funny though since as denis said, Meller is not exactly a household name.

The 2- 6pm time slot on AM1000 has been the best option for sports talk during MANY recent years.

There are literally tens of posts on here that confirm this!

It is really weird that way. I agree that W&S are not bad. I catch them occasionally but have never been able to pull the trigger full time to switch over. Maybe this transition period will be that time. We will see.

He said it was the best option. You would think there would at least be some talk about the show if that were true.

On this board, most of you listen to B&B.

I mean...I joined this board for the sports talk. I'm still confused by how much you guys talk about the individual sports radio shows. I've never been to a show remote. I don't see the appeal.

I am correct. Waddle & Silvy has been better than B&B for a long time.

Of the threads on the first page in the B & B/Goff section, twenty of them have been started by Beardown, Drake Larietta, and blackhwaksfan.

Two things.

You are talking about sports radio shows in this thread.
You talk about non-sports stuff all the time. I don't think it is strange to talk about sports radio.

So Frank, what was the best radio moment on Waddle and Silvy last year?

The answer seems to be silence. Sounds accurate.

Haven't listened to sports radio at all for a few years (outside of the Terry farewell). When I did 3 years ago the way I thought of the afternoon shows was that Waddle and Silvy was consistently a solid B-/C+ show. Boers and Bernstein was a C-/D show that had moments where it could be an A+.

Waddle and Silvy could never reach that high, but they also would never be as low the bad B&B shows.

by chance, did your wife or radio partner laugh at that joke?

also, i know i've been on waddle for being a graduate of "david kaplan's kiss the ring U" so it's pretty fitting that i think i've heard the dulcet tones of the father of the year himself on AM 1000 now (is this considered failing upwards from that end-of-the-dial FM talker that gave us the one legendary show in the form of someone's chicago sports talk radio career ending? i can't even remember who it was anymore but i remember on one cloudy/rainy afternoon that 87.9 station had us riveted!)
