Have any of you guys used a rice cooker or a pressure cooker? I eat either brown rice or quinoa almost every day and make it in a pot on the stove. The quinoa usually comes out OK but the rice is...less consistent in quality. I was looking at this rice cooker which won this comparison test when I came across this pressure cooker that won this comparison test. The latter also cooks rice, albeit not as good as a dedicated rice cooker, but does oh so much more.

Does buying a pressure cooker automatically land you on an FBI watch list? I'm already on three and really don't want to be on another.

Buy a rice cooker. It's like 20 bucks.

It sounds like the rice cooking ability is the most important thing to you, and the review you posted said the pressure cooker does "ok" but they recommend the actual rice cooker for rice.

Besides, I don't think I trust anything that promises to do so many different things to do any of them particularly well.

brown rice sucks. I don't see how you can eat that crap.

I have used both and they are both good to have. That being said, there's this thing called the Instant Pot... https://www.amazon.com/Instant-Pot-IP-D ... FLYWNYQ.... Looking at some of the YouTube videos and reading the commentary, it looks like a pretty good deal.

i have a friend who has an Instant Pot and uses it all the time/raves about it...i nearly pulled the trigger on one myself when Amazon had it on a lightning deal over the holidays, but I didn't...then I couldn't bring myself to pay the regular price for it after that

The people I know who have instant pots are almost as annoying as the people trying to sell me Herbalife who just are not match for the people pushing plexus as the cure of the world. Maybe I'm just easily aggravated. We've had a rice cooker for years. Worked pretty good back when I ate rice all the time. For some reason we don't eat rice very often these days.

Bagels.. Its really just two people that I know that are just way to over enthusiastic. That and the food these two cook would better be served as dog food so I'm not one to jump on their culinary recommendations. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with pressure cookers or instant pots but for the love of good these people need to discover a seasoning besides salt.
