The season starts next Friday. TCU and Florida are head and shoulders better than everyone else. Louisville could surprise if their many injured arms return to form. Stanford has a lot of talent but can never seem to put it all together. ASU is a super sleeper team if their talented freshman class steps up.

1 TCU
2 Florida
3 Florida St
4 South Carolina
5 LSU
6 NC State
7 Vanderbilt
8 Oregon State
9 North Carolina
10 East Carolina
11 Coastal Carolina
12 Louisville
13 UL Lafayette
14 Texas Tech
15 Clemson
16 Cal State Fullerton
17 Virginia
18 Stanford
19 Arizona
20 Texas A&M
21 Miami
22 Maryland
23 Rice
24 UNC Wilmington
25 UC Santa Barbara

I keep looking at the list thinking about the kids I know at some of those schools. Good thoughts about hard working young men.

I can't wait for Friday!

I do the same thing. This is shaping up to be a fun spring.

Btw- did you see who just committed to TCU?

I saw Alek Thomas commited to play football/baseball at TCU. So that means he would be on football scholarship. I am guessing that will be for negotiations in June of 18?

I can't wait either, Hawger. Yeah I've seen him a lot. He's a man-beast. He was the only junior at the super 60 last week and was easily the best player there. He's old for his class and there were whispers he would reclassify for the draft this year but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Too bad. He's easily a top 10 pick. He's very silimar to Austin Meadows.

I sure hope so but I'm told he's serious about playing football.

I wouldn't be so sure

Some games in Cali were allowed to move up a day because of expected bad weather this weekend. Vandy vs San Diego play at 8pm tonight. Vandy features two top 10 picks in OF Jeren Kendall and RHP Kyle Wright. Here's the link to watch the game.

Eastern Illinois played a 3 game set against South Alabama and were out scored 48-5. Embarrassing. They're easily the worst team in D1.

Keyser, give me some news on Wright St. They had a damn good team last year and graduated a lot of kids but go down to Georgia and win 2 of 3 on opening weekend. Looking forward to see what they do against South Carolina this weekend.

I'm not surprised to read that. I don't really get the point of that program on a number of different levels.

It's the Nate Metzger magic. Ha. He was the head coach at Heartland JC in Bloomington/Normal and he was turning it into a national powerhouse until the dickhead president forced him out. He caught on at Wright St as Asst Coach/recruiting coordinator. I really don't know that much about them. I saw them a couple years ago against UIC and didn't think they had much. They don't get a lot of guys from around here (Nate will change that) but they do have a right hander from South Elgin named Ryan Weiss who we really liked. I was shocked they jumped up and bit Clemson like that. I would think the Cocks will be ready for them this weekend.

I don't get it either. I see them out a lot. They're just not on the right guys.

Northern IL and Chicago St played a makeup game yesterday at CSU. The game got rained out in Arizona last weekend so they made it up in Chicago. On February freakin 22. Amazing. The weather, not the game.

TCU had a hell of a weekend beating #7 LSU, #16 Ole Miss and #17 Texas A&M. Florida has the best weekend rotation and it's not even close. Louisville has been getting fat on patsies. Michigan is going to be damn tough if Ryan Nutof starts pitching up to his ability. Vandy blows.

1. TCU
2. Florida
3. Florida State
4. Oregon State
5. Louisville
6. Texas Tech
7. LSU
8. South Carolina
9. Arizona
10. Virginia
11. Cal State Fullerton
12. Stanford

19. St. John's
20. NC State

Keyser, are you a pro scout? You seem to know every prospect in the area.

I saw him 1 time, he is impressive on the field and I have heard he is a great young man off of it. As you know, some of these kids can be total dicks.

Keyser, you'd be surprised at some of the conversations I overheard/had about another former Mt. Carmel/Div. 1 player. I'm curious how some  view him now.

I assume you're talking about JH. I'm not surprised one bit about what he's doing. I was told his coaches don't want to put too much on his plate so they're hitting him down in the order but pretty soon he's going to force them to move him up. They absolutely love him.
