Those layoffs are primarily driven by the changes in the cable landscape (cord cutting and increasing rights fees). While radio has its own issues, I'm pretty sure WMVP is a profitable venture as it has to have fairly low expenses
Yes, but the layoffs will happen across radio and television as MANY of their personnel have duties on both sides. I see ESPN Radio going even less local. Carmen & Jurko probably won't be around much longer, and they will fill their slot with even more national programming to lower costs further.
W&S will eventually be the only local show on the station.
