Wasn't he benched for football reasons even before this year?

He needs to find a team like Harbaugh's 49ers- great running game and defense. Just needs to find a system where he is not counted on to be the lead guy.

No, not for football reasons. Only a moron would think Blaine Gabbert is better than Kaepernick. He had a 90 QB rating and a 4:1 TD/INT ratio last year. Has over a 2:1 TD/INT ratio for his career. I'm not saying he's a star or anything, but anyone who is saying he is bad at football just simply doesn't know what they are talking about.

He was benched in the middle of a game against the terrible Bears. He is bad at football right now.

I really dont trust QB rating as a stat anymore. I think it just rewards garbage check down passes again soft defenses, shit doesn't Brian Hoyer have a career QB rating in the 90s?

No he doesn't. But, Hoyer is a NFL QB. He's not terrible. Same with Kaep.

 he is unemployed right now. That is all the data you need. I said nothing about his past or his future. Right now he is bad at football. That is a fact.

It's not a fact. It's an opinion, and a baseless one. He played well on arguably the least talented team in football last year. He would almost certainly be on a team right now if not for the stupid Anthem controversy. I don't feel bad for him because he had to know this was a possible consequence, but yeah there's no evidence from last season that he's bad at football, and he's not unemployed right now because of football reasons.

People have killed, faught dogs, beat kids, and played in the NFL again. If he was so good, the Anthem issue would not mean a thing.

I hate to back up FF in quarterback discussions here, but in this instance he's 100% correct. Paying for Glennon or whatever clown will be in Cleveland or getting fleeced trying to acquire Jimmy Garapolo is indefensible in comparison. Or a broken down Romo

The empirical data you are using, in this case QB rating, is outdated and not relevant to the modern day NFL and rules.

This is really a bad argument with poor facts.

I don't like the Glennon acquisition as a Bears fan, but he's still an unknown at this point with his best football ahead of him.(that is what the Bears are assuming)
Same thing for Garrappalo, oh and btw, I'll wait till he's ACTUALLY traded to start talking value on him.
Same can be said for Romo, he's still a Cowboy, if/when he's traded I don't think it will be that high of pick.

Twist and turn to play the race card all you want, but there is nothing here. I will tell you what GM's don't like....attention seeing diva's at the position, poor leaders, bad locker room guys, QB's that throw coaches under the bus... Interesting that both CK and Cutler are still free agents...=

In this link Kap is ranked 29th and is given less than glowing reviews. Given his style of running and inaccurate throwing your surprised no one wants him yet? Keep in mind he will still likely get a back up shot somewhere.

Use whatever stats you would like. I also used his latest season's TD/INT ratio and his career ratio. His completion percentage isn't good but nor is it prohibitively bad. His Y/A is acceptable. And I haven't even mentioned his running ability yet. It's pretty clear you just don't like the guy and are ignoring all the evidence suggesting he's an ok NFL QB. That's fine, but at least recognize your motivations for saying he's bad.

RR and I didn't mention race one time. Guilty conscience or something?

Of 32 "qualified" NFL QB's in 2016, his completion percentage of 59.2 was 5th worst in the entire NFL. In what bizzaro world of yours is that not prohibitively bad?

Do you know what the word prohibitively means? Clearly not.

But let's give you the benefit of the doubt and say you do know what it means. Is Jameis Winston's completion % prohibitively bad? What's the major difference between him and Kaep's completion %?

 You're pretty bad at this.

What does Jameis Winston have to do with this? Yeah he has a bad completion perentage, but he is viewed as a better pure passer than Kaepernick. He also just finished his second season in the NFL. If four years from now, Winston doesn't improve on his numbers and elevate his team to post season success, he likely will find himself in the boat as Colin Kaerperinick.

You are just spouting utter nonsense at this point.

A 59.2 completion percentage is not the same as 60.8 completions percentage. Go back and take a math class.

Every single GM in this quarterback starved league has it wrong and you are right. Somebody need's to sign CK now! What are you doing here? Why aren't you running an NFL front office?
