You stood up to the leagues and now you get the prize of tax dollars that will probably be spent on something dumb anyways and a lot of free time on Sundays. Good for your St. Louis, Oakland, and San Diego!

It's ok. Chicago chose a parking lot over a fully funded museum that wouldn't have cost them anything! At least you didn't do something that dumb!

Chicago has had free time on Sundays for about six or seven years now.

The Rams and Raiders will be fine.

The Chargers are probably going to be a mess.

London needs to be done correctly to ever work. It can't be just one team.

Getting out of St. Louis and back to Los Angeles was a necessary undoing of a big mistake. Everything else has been a terrible idea. There's no desire for the Chargers to play in Los Angeles, and the Raiders are now a permanent road team. Shit league.

Yeah, I'm not sure St. Louis really lost out there. Fuck, Los Angeles couldn't be bothered to show up this year.

No way. The Raiders were born to play in Vegas. The past is for cowards and losers.

George Lucas' Museum of Tchotchkes is so desirable it's now working on it's 3rd city to find a home.

Well there was no chance that the second option was going to happen. That was just stupidity.

The big problem here is that Oakland didn't really put up a competitive offer. The offer from them was something that virtually every owner in any city would have denied.

I mean, it's awesome to say "We won't pay!" but then you lose the team and can root for your principles on Sundays.

They should just contract the Chargers and Jaguars.

Premier FA's chose the Jaguars over the Bears this year(money being equal), let the record show.

Bears are a legacy franchise, but I hear you. I'd give them a few more seasons but if they don't get it together by 2020 they might need to relocate or be contracted too.

I have zero intentions to watch any Bears "football" for the foreseeable future.
I will be watching redzone exclusively.

3/4 billion dollars in public funds and a hotel tax sealed the Vegas deal.

Nevada must be such a miserable place to live. No one wants to spend money on anything but corporate welfare.

The popularity of the NFL will continue to decline. Does anyone think millennials, who are apathetic about anything not named Bernie Sanders give a shit about where the Raiders play football? Who is going to go to the games when they can sit in a sportsbook and gamble on all 16 games and drink on the cheap? It's not like Las Vegas natives have been pining for Raiders home games. Good for the NFL owners to take that taxpayer money from Las Vegas before the well runs dry. The 1% wins again.

I actually agree with this. The NFL is at its peak right now. Decline is in the near future. I am dating myself but grew up in the golden age of the NFL. I remember SB played on Sunday afternoon @ 1:00 1/2 hour pre game in the early 1970's. Now it is a 24 hr reality show a.k.a a fucking bore.

I guess I still don't get NFL Econ 101. If the bulk of the money is tied up in TV money that is distributed equitably, why is everyone chasing down stadium deals in 2nd & 3rd tier cities?

My take is if even they get a ton of TV money it still benefits them. If they get a free or nearly free stadium and collect 10 games worth of attendance and misc parking, vending then that is a fair amount of money. They must also get other revenues like concerts or a super bowl depending on how their stadium arrangement was worked out.

the rams are just dead weight. they left LA because no one wanted them there; they couldn't stay in St. Louis after years of not being competitive. and now they are back in the town that didn't give a damn about them again, and they still are not competitive.

las vegas is a smokescreen. there's no loyal fanbase there that's going to keep a team thriving.

No, that was one of the few situations in my lifetime where political corruption and crony capitalism did not hold sway in Chicago. If we're going to give away half a billion dollars worth of public land at least we should give it to a local boy like Mike Marchese.

The people of Chicago own a lot of parking lots. When can I get mine for a buck?

When you are going to spend a billion dollars on a museum.

Let's tear down the Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum too!
