The Masters IS so encaptivating that I went there just to see some golfers practice. I did not get to see a single competitive shot, and it was easily the best or second best sporting event I have been to.

I'll go with any annual Pro Bowling Tour event.

I love watching Bowling on TV. It was something I shared with my late mom as a kid on Saturday afternoons. It's a bit sentimentality and still very entertaining to me at least.

Oh and also Wrestlemania!

Atta boy, jimmy. Give me some PBA on TV with Parker Bohn or Pete Weber on a nice weekend morning. Take note, FF. PBA was mentioned before MMA

If you talk to people in the Northwest, The Iditarod would probably be mentioned.

Yea, activities where drinking is vital for their enjoyment (fishing, bowling, golf) invalidates their eligibility for newper's question.

NBA fans failing to recognize how special the Masters is. Very Sad!

I find the Masters to be very overrated. Same course every year which is an amazing course in person, but honestly on tv most of the holes all look the same.

I much prefer the US Open, find it to be a more entertaining tournament as long as they go to a fun course.

C'mon Frank. You went there to watch golfers practice and said it's the best sporting event you've ever been to. That's pretty fucking funny.

that's the thing about the Masters. It's not great because of the sports being played there, its great because of the venue. I think going to the Masters shouldn't be grouped into the same genre as going to the Super Bowl or the NCAA final four or the world series, I think going to the Masters should be grouped into the same genre as going to the Grand Canyon or the Taj Majal or Victoria Falls. It's an amazing place, but not because of the event being held there.

That's why I find it be overrated as a sporting event.

Those pix prove my point. Aside from Amen Corner, the rest of the course is pretty much just very green and pine straws.

And on TV you can't see the elevation changes which makes it even less interesting as viewer.

I don't get it. What's the big deal? It's a golf course. It looks like a golf course.

Maybe you would prefer a nice shot of a parking lot?
