Funny thing I saw during the beak down of the board server was a post of yours. Out of boardom I looked at the Bigfan board and yours was the only 2017 post or something. You gave him a big fuck you or something. I laughed pretty good.

I said, "Fuck this place, fuck some whores". It's a Howard Stern joke. It had nothing to with bigfan personally.

To be fair to bigfan, he never explicitly said this to me, but I got the impression he actually wanted the board to be a big tent where a person could read it for the first time and immediately be comfortable creating a log-in and posting. I think he thought the circle-jerky stuff was intimidating to a newcomer and I'm not sure he's wrong. But you can't stop people from making friends and talking the way they talk and having inside jokes and going to Darkside's barn dance or meeting up to watch hockey in DeKalb. I would say those things are good for the board. But I also don't really have an eye toward ever monetizing it.

That might have been his biggest issue and why he lost his shit when you pointed out the racism or otherwise backward ass shit he posted. I think he truly believed this board was a "something" to the real word and was trying to find a way to make money off of it.

I think he was trying to "clean" the place up to sell it.

No evidence. Just my thought at the time.

You can't think of a website like this as prime real estate with resale value. It's just the internet, it's not real.

The LTH Forum sold for $30k a couple years ago. That board wasn't as big or active as CSFMB at the time. And now it's a shell of it's former self.

I agree with Dr. Ken.

Even Goldendomer? I wasn't a fan of a lot of the censorship that went on previously, but GD was one where I felt it was absolutely necessary. That may have been the only one though that comes to mind (other than the obvious eastern hemisphere spammers.)

Goldendomer predates me, so I've only heard legend about how bad that was.

I can say with certainty that since we've taken over there have been very few things deleted. I am still curious as to America's contention that "threads are deleted all the time" and he obviously hasn't answered.

Nas and I discussed and then deleted some very personal and nasty things about Goff that were inappropriate and uncalled for. I did delete a Danny B post where he made it appear I said something I didn't. I somewhat regret that since in retrospect it was probably obvious parody. But I was annoyed at being followed around and having my viewpoints constantly mischaracterized.

Goldendomer is a professional troll. He goes to a lot of websites and just spans it to get banned with inane garbage.

At least Drake Larrietta takes a few days off.

I don't believe there was ever a Sox sale thread that was deleted in the Wisemen era. In fact, I once started such a thread. Maybe you have your timeframe wrong.

I and I believe Dolphin were the only ones against that. I saw what could come from it. Next came the 2 hour bans that all but a couple people were against and then came the daily bans that people weren't against. Even the longer bans didn't seem to bother MANY until they got banned or someone they liked got banned. From my experience very few people can be trusted not to abuse their power.

I don't remember anything deleted. I know some topics were merged from time to time when 10 people create the same thread. I actually applaud that. Bigfan might have been the worst offender of this.

Most of the good boards I know of use a very strict list of terms that will get you a temp or permanent ban. Some even have a board of some sorts to hash that out. Your statement is correct.
