I HATE when people compare him to Babe. Babe didn't have the balance or discipline of Schwarber. He hit off his front foot.

If Schwarber can average that stat line Id be ecstatic and I don't think he'll ever hit for that high a batting average consistently.

Ah the good old days of El Caballo. I would take that back in left these days. Funnier still is Bernsie hated him and his stats back him and couldn't wait to be rid of him. Defensive liability.

What makes you believe that he won't hit for an average that high?

I remember talk on the SCORE or some other outlet that Theo was trying to bring the DH to the NL because he knew he had Schwarber in the pipeline.

In all honesty I guess we just haven't seen enough of him to know what sort of hitter he'll be but I figured him for .260 ish with a lot of strikeouts , walks , and HRs.

He's a quick study too. He hit .300 at every level so I expect the same.

I'd take him having Carlos Lee's numbers but I would consider that a disappointment for him and he probably thinks the same thing. I would hope all of these young Cubs players envision themselves as future HOFers. Not all will have that type of career but that should be what the aspire to.

I think he'll be the Cubs best hitter. If not this year then definitely next year.

You don't want the young core of your team to aspire to greatness?

You see this?! The whole team will be in the hall! Please... These guys will be lucky to match the production of the Batavia Muckdogs. Plus Kyle Schwarber is fat!

Only the entire infield and a couple pitchers. Let's not get crazy.

Of course. I'm sure Matt Davidson aspires to be a HOFer too.

I believe it was Mike Murphy who stated that Theo was working behind the scenes to bring the DH to the NL. I'm sure some NL owners will be against the idea, but soon you'll have enough influential clubs say yes (I still don't think the Yankees have gotten over losing Chien-Ming Wang to a base running incident) and I can't see the union saying no. It's time.

The "He won't come close to Carlos Lee's numbers" is really going to come back to bite JORR in the ass.

You're pretty much predicting the Hall of Fame for this guy. That's something RPB and RFDC always insist Cub fans never do.

So coming close to Carlos Lee is a hall of fame prediction?

So coming close to Carlos Lee is a hall of fame prediction?

That's not what JORR is saying. Read what Hockey Gay said again. He's saying Schwarber will be so much better than Lee that it's laughable that one day someone once said he won't be as good. That's basically saying Schwarber will be a HOFer

Schwarber will easily be a hall of famer. I thought this was agreed on by everyone but JORR?

He'll be amazing for a few years and then eat himself out of the league by age 28. The downfall will be ugly to watch.
