Yeah Mike, without you, the NFL would never have had radio stations at the combine which has exploded in popularity .

For someone to think, why don't we have radio stations like we do at the Super Bowl is such a stretch.

I remember reading here that PTI was stole from Pappy. Pappy cited his show with Jiggs. Pappy claimed that he invented a black and a white guy talking sports.

Mike's trying to pat himself on the back again, and he needs to be called out. Mike's track history doesn't permit me to believe that he came up with this idea.
He comes up with "Steak and BJ Day", so I'm supposed to believe that he came up with this thought about the Combine.

I think Pappy also claimed he invented sports radio. If you give him enough time he'll convince himself he invented radio.

I'll give Pappy this much. He did invent hiring a bimbo waitress who doesn't know sports to produce a sports radio show.

This is a board about a radio show. I assume that means it's a place for us, sports fans and sports talk-radio fans, to react to the show--positively, negatively, whatever we happen to feel about the show at any given time. The show is on every weekday and therefore puts new material out there every weekday for us to react to. If someone hears something dumb North said every day and wants to call it to our attention, I have no problem with that. Once someone posts that North said something stupid, no one else is ever allowed to point out any other instances? By the way, those who like Mike North are free to post "Something Smart Mike North Said" every day, too. Good luck finding material.

You know that book that starts off with a story about a guy who created thing, like over the course of six days or something, then he took a break on the seventh? The book doesn't mention it but everything that guy made were Pappy's ideas.

I realize occasionally ripping a host is healthy, they are not perfect. North is who North is, he generally says stupid things. I also have partaken in ripping him for saying something stupid.

All Im saying though is you guys are treating this guy like he is a celebrity. Can you believe he said this? Did he really say this? Oh my God, he said the ratings books are BS. Oh my God, he claims that he started radio row. The thing is, it's his schtick to sometimes blurt out whatever is on his mind. Dan treats people like assholes and yet there are people praising him for his work on the Dan Patrick show.

Im not saying to stop ripping him alltogether, I just think someone needs to stick up for this guy occasionally because I think some of the stuff is getting out of hand.

Fine, I wont mention another host on "the wrong thread" to support my argument.

The guy hosted freakin radiothons for the police and fireman charities! That alone makes him a decent guy in my book. There is also a pretty damned good reason why the guy got to fill in for the Imus show, and I am pretty damned sure it wasn't because he gives good BJs.

What do I need to do to become a better asshole towards Mike? Maybe I just have an alternate universe radio.

Ok, this will be popular, but in my opinion, anything he does like marathons and stuff, is done to bring attention to himself. I say that, because that is his way and I have been told the same thing by people who have worked with him in the past. North is out for North, which is fine, but how many times has the guy bragged about what he has done, I would be more impressed if he did these things and we didnt hear about it for 3 years.

Also, when was the last time he has done a marathon? Two years? All of a sudden it stops, wonder why?

The Score allows him to do this. You're not a great guy because you do 12 hours of radio asking listeners for money. I give the Score listeners credit for that. I'd do 12 hours of radio if they asked. That wouldn't make me a great person either.

If Pappy does give his own money to charity that is great. I'm sure he does and that's very nice. Good job Pappy. That doesn't excuse him from being an ass hole in other areas. It doesn't excuse him from being a bad radio host either.

I think it's fine that you enjoy him. By the ratings slide, I guess you are a member of a dwindling group. I certainly don't think I should try to change anyone's find about him, but I also think this board is a forum for everyone's expression of like or dislike for the low class, ignorant, bigoted fool. Hopefully, the airwave pollution known as the MNMS will be gone before the end of the year. It really shouldn't be a problem for a sports station to find a decent host willing to talk sports and not make the show about themselves.

I hope you understand my point though. I am not trying to change peoples minds and I respect your hatred for the guy. People have told me stories about how he treats others, specifically a waitress who said how he wants everything for free because he is who he is. My point is simply that this thread is getting ridiculous with nitpicking every damn thing he says to death.
