Parkins joined Siafa Lewis and Jeff Blanzy on NBC's Sports Sunday this evening.

WSCR wanted Parkins over Leery and I guess NBC did, too.

When he speaks it looks like he has tobacco chew in his mouth. BTW, what a dreadful show... (nothing to do with Parkins, he was fine).

Coppock was on Fox sports Sunday night with Rozner. It was great uneasy television.
Barry finished with giving Chet a pat on the back. Chet reciprocated with 3 harder hits on Rozner's shoulder. I found it amusing.

Chet was on WLS AM 890 a couple of weeks ago with Bob Sirott practically begging for a job anywhere in Chicago Radio. He was sort of doing a mia culpa admitting his past faults, mistakes, etc. Said his dream job is on radio in the city for a daily 3 hour sports show teamed with a female - specifically named Sarah Spain for an example.

Yeah, I gotta admit it sounded very uncomfortable. You could tell it was Sirott doing a favor for a fellow old timer. However, he (Sirott) did sound sincere and seemed to have truly liked Chet.

i always liked Sirott. Smart guy who seemed genuinely interested in the news he reported. Always knew how to toss in some quick wit.

That morning show on Fox with his wife was my news of choice as a middle school/high school kid growing up.

As a pre-teen, K Effective was hooked on WLS for rock-n-roll radio, like 40% of the country. While visiting the Windy City, I was able to persuade Ma and Pa Effective to swing by the studios of WLS, in hopes of meeting a Larry Lujack or John Records Landecker. We got the afternoon guy, one Bob Sirott, probably 25 years old himself, big, shaggy blonde afro and giant Koss headphones. Watched from behind the glass for a few minutes, then he actually came out and talked to us. Super nice and polite guy, my folks loved him, I thought he was God himself, playing all the coolest tunes. He may not have been on the cutting edge then, or at any time since then, but he has always been solid. No reason not to like him still.

I was another Fox Thing viewer. I even remember a little of First Thing In The Morning (on which Fox Thing was obviously based) on channel 5 with Sirott and I want to say Alison Rosati. Pretty much the dress rehearsal for the wacky-zany WGN Morning News.

I haven't been a fan of Sirott's WGN work, though. It was perfunctory.

Yep, it was Rosati before the babies. It was a very loose, fun thing that I would watch before HS... definitely WGN built off of that. If I remember correctly, they would do HS Lunch Reports where they would pick some random HS and say what they were having for lunch as a bumper to commercials. There was some special song they would do too.

Rosati before the babies always gave off the impression that she was getting ready to go home and fuck the rest of the day.

Fox 32 had a good news shop in the late '90s between Fox Thing and Walter and Robin at 9. Sometimes when I watch old Simpsons episodes, I can't resist doing their Big Voice Guy over the credits with, like, "TONIGHT ON FOX 32 NEWS AT NINE: WALTER JACOBSON REPORTS..." or whatever. I guess they're really fighting it these days. Feder is hard on them.

Here's the only clip of First Thing in the Morning I could find. I'm not really seeing Alison Rosati as dtf the way you older guys are. What's that song at the 6:00 mark? It's painfully early '90s but I can't remember the name. Is it the BoDeans? It must be.

Dude, she looks COMPLETELY down to fuck.

Shit, she might not make it into her car without losing those surely leopard print panties.
