Isn't rb the one position this team is somewhat solid at?

Pace has done as little as possible to improve the team for 2017 with this draft. It really does seem like he's trying to get Fox fired.

This RB pick is a head scratcher for sure..... little bitty guy that was projected as a 6th rounder?

But I thought you were on board for the 1st and 2nd round pick...?

I am, but (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is supposedly going to sit his first year and Shaheen isn't going to put the team on his back or create any defensive turnovers.

The 4th rounders were a 3rd runningback and a returner...Fox has gotten zero help in the trenches or defensive backfield...he's being thrown to the wolves.

yeah makes no sense esp considering there was plenty of OL, DB, and WR talent there...all of which the team needs

Pace might be doing a good job of getting himself shitcanned too.

Pace has bought himself at least another year by hitching his wagon to (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. Fox has not.

well these 4th round guys are not going to determine his status. Pace will stay or go completely based on what QB1 does

Interesting, the guys who were complaining about people complaining about picks yesterday are the ones complaining about picks today.

Amazing.

Amazing.

I dont have a problem with the S pick.

but the RB pick makes no sense. I dont have a problem complaining about picks. But some of you guys complain no matter what is done or who is picked. THat is just stupid.

I actually like the RB pick more than the kick returner pick. The RB looks like he could be a lot of fun to watch, and if he can catch/block he can complement Jordan Howard who is completely useless in the passing game.

Somone asked about the price for trading up. They gave up their 6th round pick. So as it stands right now, they only have a 5th round pick left.

I have a bigger problem giving up a pick to trade up for Jackson than I do the trade up for (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

yeah I can see that. Not sure why you trade up for the kid from bama when King from Iowa would have been there...in fact he is still there.

I don't like either trade tbh. While I don't mind either pick -it's what is given up to get something that's irritating. That said, if they only gave up a 6th for Jackson then meh

I'd rather have had King or Lawson tho. I agree that Pace is doing no favors for Fox next year for sure.

Zaidman tweeted (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky/Brees. Shaheen/Graham Cohen/Sproles is what Pace is thinking

The infatuation with a New Orleans roster that never won anything is bizarre.

They already have the Saints D so they are halfway there.

Well Brees did win a Superbowl...albeit not with Graham and Sproles.

But if this draft gets them guys that can perform at the level of Brees, Graham and Sproles this will be considered a grand slam draft.

Well it goes without saying that Pace wants the QB he drafted #2 overall to have a career comparable to a slam dunk Hall of Famer. However, trying to create a carbon copy of an offense by trying to find player comps to exact personnel doesn't make much sense to me. I mean you look at those years when Graham and Sproles were both really clicking and yes, the Saints were good, but they couldn't get over the hump. And how much of that success can be replicated by a team that plays outdoor games in Chicago?

And I dont see how John Fox is going to be able to team up with Dowell Loggains to run that kind of high scoring offense. Also, where is the big possession receiver in the mold of Marques Colston? I like Cam Meredith but that kind of expectation is aggressive and without that kind of highly productive reliable target I dont see this offense really working.

The big fear I have is what happens when games in November and December get derailed by shitty weather and the Bears paper thin defense cant win a sloppy game. I'm not sure the Saints are the best model for the Bears to follow.

Wasn't Peterman the QB that got the Brees comps tho?

Well Peterman is still out there so who knows, but I dont put that much stock in comparisons between established Hall of Fame pros and incoming rookies. If Peterman was really the next Brees the Browns would've taken him #1 overall.

I do not have a problem with aspiring for (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky to mimic the career of Drew Brees, I do have a problem with the Bears trying to mimic the roster of an era of New Orleans Saints football that really only had a couple decent seasons.

Yeah I def see your concerns, esp the weather and field in Chicago. If they played inside this would be a much more reasonable focus. I do think they look at Meredith as being that Colston type receiver.

At least it seems they have a plan they are working towards. And Fangio is a better D guy that they had in NO during their run.

What is boils down to is if Tribusky is the goods and Fangio keeps working on the D they are going to be better

I do not like Fox. I do not think Pace likes Fox either, but the head coach decision is one that is now made by McCaskey and Phillips in the wake of the Trestman disaster. You cant blame Pace for the shitty coach he is forced to work with.

If things hold to course, Pace will trade down at the top of round 5 to get a pick in the 6th or 7th
