He's been bad. He's as close to an auto out with 2 strikes as Baez.

He takes alot of pitches and draws walks but Schwarber is best when he sits on a pitch early in the count and tries to bomb it.

He'll be fine. The league made adjustments, and now he has to. He's also in his own head a little bit.

Did I say Brian Downing? Maybe more like Joe Charboneau.

I'm fairly sure his last 10 AB's started with an 0-2 count and lasted no more than four pitches.

In the last week to ten days he has been truly awful.

Because we don't have anyone as great as Tim Anderson!

Tyler Saladino has been the best leadoff hitter in Chicago.

Troll better.

I was the first one here with the Downing comp, and I'm sticking with it for now. That said, he should have been sitting on Sunday, and Castillo should have been at DH.

Joe is saying all the right things about Jay, so I would hope that he will split games evenly between Jay/Schwarber/Almora (so 1 game off each a series) for the next couple of weeks.

If there was a 16 inning game this week, Schwarber is the candidate to be sent to Iowa for 10 days to chill out while they brought an extra pitcher up to fortify the bullpen.

He will be just fine. Baseball is a game of adjustments and mental games from pitchers to batters. They adjust and so does he. .289 avg 35 HR 89 RBI.

My thoughts exactly.

How awesome would it be if he stayed hot against death-spiral Milwaukee and Theo was able to get a nice package for him from an AL team? I know he's Theo's bro, but I can dream...

I'm not sending him anywhere. Most of his stats would look great with a .260 average even. I'm thinking he will rebound. Batting .280 since the AS break.
What kind of talent could he bring back anyway?

Sonny Gray.

If I'm Jed, I make that call last night after the game. It wasn't bed time for Beane yet.

Schwarber has a 1.100 OPS as a DH this season.

He's slowly learning he doesn't have to swing full tilt like Baez all the time to hit it out.
