Looks like Hiura has had a good weekend thus far: 2-3 with 2 doubles on Friday, 1-3 with 2 walks on Saturday.

Starting to really like this kid.

LHP Jake Eder Calvary Christian FL HS sat 90-94 t95 with a 71-73 hammer curveball in his last start. This guys the goods.

LHP Mackenzie Gore Whiteville NC HS sat 91-93 t94 with a 79-81 slider. Gore is a slight framed funky ass lefty whose ball gets on the hitters quick. He's an interesting little fucker.

RHP Joe Perez Archbisop McCarthy FL HS sat 93-96 t98 with an 80-83 wipeout slider. Perez is a 2 way guy whose future is on the mound. Super athletic right hander.

Hiura hit another bomb last night against TCU, with a double and two walks. Now slugging 1.022, just beating out Brendan McKay.

Brendan McKay with another ho-hum performance. Dude just keeps rolling along 7 IP 5 H 0 ER 1 BB 12 K's

Tanner Houck is starting to put it together after a slow start sitting 90-94 t95 with a wipeout slider. 7 IP 1 H 0 ER 3 BB 9K's

Jaren Kendall went 0-3 with 2 more K's

Alex Faedo showed an uncharacteristic lack of command and got his shit pushed in against Auburn. 4.1 4 H 6 ER 6 BB 5 K's

The top of the draft is really getting muddled with so many college guys underperforming.

Alex Faedo bounced back with a dominating outing against LSU. Faedo sat 90-93 T94 with plus life and a nasty 83-86 slider. 7 IP 7 H o ER 0 BB 7 K's

Alex Lange threw a terrific game also sitting 90-93 t94 with a 12/6 curveball at 80-83. Lange needs to improve his well below average change if he wants to remain a starter at the next level. 8 IP 6 H 1 ER 1 BB 7 K's

NC State beat Brenden McKay but he still had a nice outing. 7 IP 6 H 3 ER 1 BB 14 K's

Jeren Kendall hit a GS (6th HR of the season) and also struck out.

Tanner Houck's up and down season continued as he got knocked around by the Hogs. 3.2 IP 5 H 3 ER 1 BB 3 K's

The National High School Invitational is going on in NC. Here are some standouts:

RHP Hans Cruse (Dana Hills, CA) sat 93-97 with a developing 76-79 slider. His 100th pitch of the game was 94. Dude's got some serious arm strength. 5.1 IP 4 H 0 ER 2 BB 9 K's

3B Mark Vientos (American Heritage, FL) went 4-5 with a 1 2B 2 R 1 RBI 1 SB. Vientos will be 17.6 years old on draft day and is the most projectable player in the draft.

LHP Jacob Heatherly (Cullman, AL) struggled with command in his start sitting 87-92 T93 with a 75-78 curveball. 5.1 IP 2 H 4 ER 4 BB 6 K 3 HBP

SS Brady McConnell (Merritt Island, FL) barreled it 3 times with nothing to show for it.

1B Alex Toral (Archbishop McCarthy, FL) went 1-3 with a walk

Kyle Wright finally decided to show up this year. Dude threw the fuckin piss out of it against Florida. He was still throwing 95 in the 8th inning. 9 IP 3 H 0 R 0 BB 13 K.

Kentucky HS RHP Joe Boyle was 93-96 t97 with a plus curveball in his last start. Boyle signed an opt out of the draft form to honor his commitment to Norte Dame but Big Boy needs to run his ass to the MLB headquarters and rip that form up. He's leaving a ton of money on the table.

BA did a mock draft and they had McKay going 1st overall to the Twins. If you told them back in January they would be taking McKay 1-1 they would have thought you were fuckin nuts.

They have Adell going to the Sox. Don't see him being there.

I know you have a disdain for the Cubs Keyser, but do you see them going pitching heavy like last year? Or do you think they'll be a little more balanced in their selections?

I think they'll grab a bat with one of their first round picks then continue to load up on pitching. No reason to deviate from the plan.

RHP Kyle Wright is having another dominating performane today against Tennessee. He hasn't allowed a hit thru 5 innings and he's dropping his slider in for strikes at will. He's moving himself back into the top 3 conversation.

A couple hitters at Virginia are moving up draft boards. 1B Pavin Smith and OF Adam Haseley.

Smith (a left handed hitter) is generating buzz because of his plus hit tool and because he has hit more home runs (10) than strike outs (6). He is definitely limited to 1B.

Haseley is a two-way player but his future is as a hitter. There are some questions about his ability to stay in CF and if his power will play on a corner but the hit tool is good enough that teams seem willing to take that chance.

Jordan Adell hit his 18th home run of the season last night. I can't believe they pitched to him 18 times. He's a manbeast.

Son of a bitch he hit 3 more today. He's up to 21 on the season. I have no idea what these teams are thinking. Adell also has 25 walks and only 7 K's.

It's still too early to say but you would think they're hoping one of the college hitters gets to them. Kendall, Smith or Haseley. Of the three Haseley is the most likely to still be there but the way this draft is shaping up they all might go in the top 10. If they're all gone they probably go with a college pitcher. Either Romero, Canning or Peterson who is also moving his way up draft boards.

Kyle Wright and Tanner Houck hooked up in an old fashioned pitchers duel yesterday.

Wright was 92-94 and his wipeout slider was on point. 9 IP 3 H 1 ER 1 BB 13 K's.

Houck was 90-93 t 94 slider 82-84. 8 IP 5 H 0 ER 1 BB 9 K's.

Jeren Kendall went 2-5 with 2 k's (55 k's for the season) and stole his 16th base of the year.

Twins President Derek Falvey was in attendance though I'm not sure he knows what he was looking at.

Houston LHP and potential 1st round pick Seth Romero was kicked off the team for "conduct detrimental to the team." He reportedly got in a fight with a teammate before a game. This dude has serious issues.

Brendan McKay's stuff was a couple ticks down in his friday start against Clemson as he sat 87-91. It's probably just a little tired arm. He was still able to grind out a decent outing. 5 IP 5 H 0 ER 3 BB 7 K's.

Kyle Wright keeps trending up after another excellent outing against Arkansas (sorry Hawger). Wright sat 92-96 97t. 7 IP 2 H 0 ER 1 BB 11 K's

Wright's last 5 starts: 39.1 IP 12 H 5 ER 7 BB 51 K's

12 hits in 39 innings. Yikes.

I don't know if I could take someone in the 1st rd with junkball speed on their fastball.

Like I said he was down this week. He usually sits 90-93. He's not a flamethrower. He has an avg fastball, plus curve, plus change and plus command. He's going to be a solid starter for a long time but if I'm drafting 1-1 I want a lot more ceiling than that.

Alex Faedo is getting knocked around by Kentucky on ESPN. BA came out with a new mock draft and they had Faedo going to the Sox. I don't think that's going to happen.

Brendan McKay finally faced a good team tonight and Florida St really knocked him around. BA dropped him out of the top spot in favor of Kyle Wright.

Keyser

What would be your pick if Hahn is picking?

What is Kenny were picking?

I don't know how to answer that. I think they're hoping and praying one of the college bats gets to them.
