I actually tuned into today to find something positive to post in this section.
Others have written that all anyone does on here is write negatively about the MNMS.
I listened from 7-8:30 a.m., and I just shook my head.
Mike continued his barrage against Derek Anderson, and North brought up Scott Mitchell. North said that Mitchell was a system quarterback, he did well in Detroit and the sucked in Miami.
Mitchell replaced an injured Dan Marino IN MIAMI then signed a big deal with Detroit. He was an arrogant SOB -- made fun of the head coach -- and floundered in the Motor City.
While Anderson has profited from a quality corps around him -- "Willis McGehee -- oh I mean Jamal Lewis at running back" and talented receivers.
All of this because Anderson wanted to plug his cause and didn't want to answer Mike's football questions.
Kudos of the Day: "Stripes". He points an editing flaw with the movie, plugs the fact that Harold Ramis appeared on Mike's TV show then raves about the actors in the movie.
It appeared to me that he was giving the movie kudos because he liked it. Way to keep current.
Jag Bag of the Day: Academy Awards and Jon Stewart. Mike said that they needed a bigger star, not some guy from cable.
He brought up David Letterman -- whose appearance was widely panned ( even though I liked it) -- and Billy Crystal (an afterthought at this point in his career).
Jon Stewart is not a big enough star, this coming from a guy who's part of second-place Chicago Sports Talk radio gig. Please!
Mike doesn't like Stewart because he takes shots at the administration. Mike, Jon also provides satire on Obama, the Clintons and other democrats.
Speaking of Obama, Mike poked fun -- wasn't laughing -- about the senator's garb from a photo taken in Africa. He also brought up that Kenyans were great runners because they had to race away from lions. Mike said that he and Fred would have developed into quick runners if they were under those conditions. Some real in-depth thoughts from The Wise Guy.
Then there's Fred. He doesn't know who Tiffany is, and then the film critic doesn't remember the name of the actress who played opposite Sean Young in "Stripes". He does remember that she killed early in "Halloween".
"I've seen it". P.J. Soles is the LAST of the teenagers to be killed in the movie, Mr. Cinema.
One of Mike's teases for the rest of the show, Fred's Movie Reviews at 8:40 and Notre Dame High School's Tom Les at 9. That's something to keep me on the edge of my seat.
Sorry Hoffy, I tried to do what you said.

I heard North question DeRosa’s possible choice of surgery for his heart ailment. North asked why he wouldn’t choose to take a pill every day. Yeah, no potential dangers or side effects with medication. This guy never thinks anything through. No big surprise here….Fred agreed.

I wish that Fred had a cyanide pill embedded in a molar. Not that he would ever voluntarily swallow it but it could get accidentally dislodged when he’s going down hard on North 3 ½ inches of Irish/Italian pride.

I'm actually surprised he mentioned Letterman or Crystal to host the Oscars. This guy is so locked into the past, I thought he'd want Bob Hope to come back from the dead.

I am disappointed that Mike didn't offer his services to the Academy.

Its amazing how much idiocy one can be exposed to in such a short time period.

I liked Monday where Mike took on the high school dropout rate. "Unconcerned Parents" is what Mike initially attributed to be the source of the problem. Then the parenting expert without kids paused, and went on to explain that the reason he dropped out was because he wasn't interested in high school. He was about to expound on how not everybody is interested in high school but shifted gears to one of his favorite targets Obama, and Farrakhan's endorsement.

I caught the Obama garb/barefoot running comments this morning. If only Mike were a drinker, then some of this would make sense.

The new MNMS guarantee: "Give me 10 minutes, 15 minutes tops, and I'll say something idiotic."

Mike doesn't mind the current president wearing costumes.

Here's a guy who should not be making fun of other people's garb:

Can someone find the pictures where they have Pappywear zubaz photoshopped onto a muscular model and replaced his face with Pappy's? Looks like an extremely buff Pappy showcasing with clothing line.

I'm in 100% agreement with you on this TB. North hates Jon Stewart and wouldn't have anything good to say about him if the ratings had been great. The thing that gets me is that once again North makes a declaration based on his own skewed view while ignoring the most obvious ratings factor for any Academy Awards presentation - there were no blockbuster movies last year (only Juno did over $100 million). To state that viewers tune in to see the host is absurd. And Billy Crystal??? Yeah, I'm sure it was the host and not Titanic's multiple nominations that brought record audiences in 1998. I'm not saying Crystal wasn't a good host, but to think he's an audience draw in 2008 is a bit of a stretch.
