I find it inexplicable how neither Bruce nor Waddle had *heard* of a Shamrock Shake. They've only been advertising them for 20 years.

If McDonald's "shakes" had any sort of dairy product in it, I might try it...

Now how do you expect Waddle to notice anything when he has a wife, four daughters, three jobs, yadda, yadda...

I used to suck down Shamrock Shakes like a crackwhore in Anacostia sucks down a rosepipe. Haven't had one in a few years, and I doubt I'll be having one this go around with the current diet. As for complaints about the chemical makeup of the McDonalds milkshake... I certainly don't care. I know when I go to McDonalds I'm not getting organic dairy products with farm-fresh Egg McMuffins and pigs raised in pens larger than middle class South American homes. As long as it tastes good, they get my $1.89

A shamrock shake with 1.5 oz Creme de Menthe and 3 oz. light rum is an outstanding tasty treat!

I posted it before and I'll reiterate -

Shamrock shakes aren't as good since they started making all their shakes from that gelatinous goo they use now. Their shakes are disgusting. They aren't cold to start with because they don't need to be. They are held together by the McDonald's Milkshake Goo Slurry Byproduct. Then, if you ever let one get room temperature, look at it. It's still as thick as when it is "cold". I hate their shakes. Give me a Steak N' Shake shake. Those are great.

McD's has used gelatinous goo since their inception - hence, they are called "shakes" and not "milkshakes". Not sure how long ago you tried them, but I would bet that it was non-dairy then, too.

I agree that Steak and Shake is in a different league, although I could do without the layers upon layers of toppings that they have in their shakes now. That being said, Shamrock shakes are by far the best item on the menu at McD's. Except for those week old, 2/$1 apple pies that are three-times deep fried.

And if they don't scan the store card, write a complaint to Jewel HQ. They sent me a $10 gift card for that oversight.

Big brother is always watching - they don't care about not giving you the savings in $$$$ - they just use "preferred cards" to track your trends in shopping.

That's true. They even give you coupons with your receipt based on stuff you have purchased in the past. Regularly getting Hot Pockets coupons.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Up here in the northern 5 minutes from corn areas, they tend to "follow the rules" with respect to the preferred card swipage. they will ask you for the phone number of registration, otherwise.

my shopping trends do not yield coupons of said purchases....ever.
