What I'm hearing is that chus "published" this private information publically. Doxxing.
I'm wondering how given that he was talking with people privately.

Chus is probably taking more heat than he should, but you can't say his ultimate intent was to keep this information private.

If he only told his wife and kids then that's a private conversation. He shared info about a member of this board with other board members using a feature provided by the board.

Ultimately I don't really give a shit, but like everyone else here I like arguing about nothing.

You're also saying that a conversation cannot be private on the internet, even when it's called a private message that is not generally accessible to anyone other than the intended recipient without an illegal intercept.

Hence, doxxing.

Why is telling board members publishing the information but telling your wife and kids is not. Is it the media involved or is it the level of intimacy of the people having the conversation? My wife was unlikely to know this but now we've discussed it... have I participated in a doxxing by talking about it with her?
You say multiple... is the number of participants in the conversation relevant? Let's say he just told me and me alone in a pm... is that doxxing?

I don't know if what Chus did constitutes as doxxing. Sort of a silly, relatively new term with an evolving definition, to be honest. But I firmly believe he intended for the information to be publicized on this board. And I am glad he notified people. He did the board a service.
