I didn't expect much from the final round yesterday, but that was an exciting finish.

Yeah, I was really rooting for the Cantlay kid because of his story, but at least he made enough money that he knows he has his card for the rest of the year and hopefully he will make enough to get it next year also. Kid has been thru a lot.

The Arnold Palmer event should be a pretty good one this week. Fun course to watch some of the bigger names go after it.
Some of the pros were complaining about not getting all the big players but I think the field is much better than average. I
don't think that these guys forget what Arnold Palmer did for the game and with the WGC event next week and Masters 3
weeks out and can understand maybe not playing this event.

Match Play this week. It's one of my favorite non-major weekends all year.

I'll be interested to watch. I remember liking the course last year as it really has a large risk/reward factor to a number
of the holes. I guess that is what makes this event so interesting. A lot of these guys play much more aggressively than
they normally would because they aren't worrying about a final score, just winning a hole at a time. I haven't really studied
the matchups so just seeing how things play out until this weekend. Also the scheduling makes it a fun run up into the
Masters to see who is playing well and has their games together.

I remember the course being really cool for match play also last year, and it was a first year course. I guess some of the players still don't like the new format and have even suggested a 36 hole stroke play to determine who makes it down to the final 16 in match play. I kind of like then new format but also realize it is a lot of damn golf for the guys that advance far in the tournament.

Day walked off due to his Mom having cancer surgery this weekend :( He is breaking down in the press room now.

I watched an awful lot of the WGC event this weekend and it was a lot of fun. That is a great course for this kind of event. I really
wished that Rahm hadn't gotten off to such a poor start but I give him a lot of credit for hanging in there. I can't figure out how he
creates so much power with what is essentially maybe 3/4 swings. Incredible. He is putting together a solid resume and should be
a force to reckon with in majors, maybe even as early as this years Masters, although I doubt it.

I would not be shocked at all if Rahm won the Masters, he has some serious game and is already one of the top players in the world.

DJ is on a Tiger-like run. He has won his last three starts, and finished in third place at Pebble.

What DJ is doing right now is incredible. And against a field that is tougher than anything Tiger dealt with.

Yeah, I know... Ernie Els, Vijay Singh, and Phil were giving Tiger fits back in the day. But fuck that.

I have no idea what in the world Rickie Fowler is doing.

Henley is white heat red hot.

I thought tweets, texts, emails, phone calls from viewers were no longer allowed to influence penalties. Lexi got screwed.

When I fist heard about it I didn't realize it happened in the 3rd round for crying out loud. She gets the penalty 12 holes into her 4th round. I wonder if they would have assessed the penalty if the punishment for signing an incorrect score card was still disqualification? Could you imagine seeing them escort her off the course?

Nice win for Chappell this weekend. I really like his game a lot and am on record as saying he may be one of the brightest
young American stars to come up.

I thought I remember you raving about him here, something to the effect of he would win real soon as he was putting everything together nicely. I wanna say this was like less than a month ago. I looked for the post you made about him in this thread, but couldn't find it.

Anyway, nice job calling it.

It's in the Masters thread. I had him as my dark horse pick in that tournament. He had been close a number of times so it was nice to see him
finally get that first win. I hope it gives him that much more confidence moving forward. He is known as a solid player on the harder tracks.

Pretty good article about how some of the teams in this weeks Zurich came together. I didn't watch any of this last year but with the
weather being crappy this weekend I'll probably check some of this out. I like the change in format.

Read some nice things about the new course they are playing for the Wells Fargo, lots of comparisons to Augusta I guess.
Didn't watch much of last week's team event but seemed like a success. Glad to see things back to normal with the Players
right around the corner and the US Open on the horizon.

Anyone see any of the coverage yesterday/last night? I was mildly surprised at the lack of really low scores, but I think that is a good thing.
I didn't get to see any highlights or peeks at the course.

Quail Hollow is hosting the PGA Championship this year, so the Wells Fargo was moved to another course. Other than some of the local guys, like Haas and Simpson, most guys haven't played here.

Nice to see Steve Stricker qualify for the US Open, I know he wanted to play in it badly being in his home state.

He has made the cut in each of his last 23 majors.

I really wish they would talk more about Phil Mickelson. Definitely hasn't been enough coverage and chatter about a guy who might not even fucking play.

might not play? More like, definitely won't play. He needs a 4 hour delay and tomorrow looks to be the only day this week with zero chance of rain.
