They gave up 118 points so yeah it's the defense. Bad shot but you have to gets stops and they can't stop this team with Durant. I'm not going to blame James or Irving. They both played their ass off. Without either it's a blowout.

The game was in their hands down the stretch and Golden State didn't regain the lead until there was one minute left, regardless of how many points they ended up with. That's a failure at both ends of the floor IMO.

LeBron James is not a natural scorer and never has been. He doesn't have a helluva iso game and never has. I don't expect him to get buckets in that situation.

It's not the same thing. How hard is that to understand? The Bulls were up in both series. The Cavs were down 0-2.

I thought clutch situations were clutch situations, regardless of the point they happen in a series. I tend to think the guys we attribute having "killer instincts" to aren't doing second-order calculations about the point in the series they're at but instead are simply seeking to win the game via whatever route possible.

More relevant to this discussion, Lebron actually didn't have the best fourth quarter and in fact missed two open layups that quarter. Green himself has just said he knew Lebron was exhausted heading into the fourth. It seems to me that using his entire quarter performance would be a better line of attack on him than the mere fact that he served up a corner 3 to Korver while there was a minute left.

I think you're being too nitpicky here Nas. +7 in 46 minutes and his team lost by 5. That's an insane stat. Tonight we got to see one of the best players ever take on one of the best teams ever assembled and he came up just short. It was amazing. It's crazy if your main takeaway is that he should have shot one more time.

Great games and seasons can be wiped out with 1 play. LeBron played an amazing game but that brain fart wiped it out and ended the series.

Brett Favre had arguably his best season at like 40 with the Vikings but it was wiped out by his interception in the NFC Championship game.

I don't question LeBron's heart. I saw him leave it all on the court in 2015 and 2016 and was impressed. He made a bad decision tonight. Some situations are more important than others. Being down 0-2 in the Finals is 911 important. I want a LeBron in a wheelchair to shoot the ball 100 times out of 100 over Kyle Korver. I want him to slap the shit out of Kyrie and take the ball too.

It wasn't AP's 2 fumbles, and the admitted bounty hunting Saints defense that cost MN the game?

none of that would've mattered if favre would have made a better throw.

however, favre's career isn't remembered for that interception. by that time, it was amazing he could still play at a high level.

That's my take on it but most blame Favre. I think AP had 3 fumbles.

I liked Lebron concession speech, this was guaranteed to happen the minute KD signed with GS.

Is Lebron the most dominant moral victory player in NBA history?

How he is covered is so bizarre.

as the Cavs built their lead in the 3rd, Kerr refused to call timeout. I was curious why until I saw LeBron, the abject picture of exhaustion...clearly completely spent to finish the 3rd, and Kerr wasn't going to give him the opportunity to sub out or get a blow.

Durant is the difference in this series. Klay Thompson and Curry made a big 3 with Durant.

Love is no Chris Bosh. Tristan Thompson only got 3 rebounds in the game. That is hard to believe given how he has dominated other teams on the glass in the past.

LeBron and Kyrie played great offensive games, but this game showed they don't have a third scorer. The Cavs have fallen into the concept that when playing the Warriors they need to shoot three pointers. They were 12 for 44 from behind the arc. J.R. Smith and LeBron James were solid from three, but Kyrie was 0 for 7 and Love was 1 for 7. The bench was 2 for 11 from the three-point line.

The Warriors had 18 turnovers, which means the Cavs have no chance if they can't win a game in which Golden State shoots under 50 percent from the field and has 18 turnovers. The Cavs had an additional 7 shots, but they still shot less than 45 percent from the field. The Cavs shot 60 percent from the field on two point shots.

I'm happy for Durant, he made the right decision and it paid off. Heyword is going to play for Stephens and draft a star guard with the first pick..let Thomas walk next year and this team is loaded with talent and huge cap space.

This whole nonsense that we are at the start of the Durant era is bullshit.

You don't think GS repeats next year and possibly another couple rings after?

Agreed. We're clearly in year 3 and counting of the Curry era

Sure they probably will. It is the Warriors era
I am talking as individual players....Durant is not better than Lebron. Durant is not the best player in the league. I am not even sure he is the best player on his own team.

Yeah Durant isn't the best player in the league. Put LeBron on GS and they win 75+ games. Durant isn't better than Kawhi.

Yeah, probably. They're definitely in the conversation at this point but I'd say that's about it
