 Wow, Keyser wrong again, there is a surprise.

Burger can really swing the bat. Lots of questions about his defense tho. May end up at 1B or DH

This sounds like a terrible pick.

Good job Kenny.

Love the combination of low strikeout totals and huge raw power. I wonder if he'll move to LF or stay at 3rd.

Why trade for Schwarber when you can draft your own?

Are you kidding me. They took another 1B with the 2nd pick. The hell.

Two power hitters with low K numbers in college, lets see how that holds up when they encounter breaking balls in W-S.

I haven't seen one scouting report that doesn't think he will be able to remain as no less than an average third baseman. He was named his conference defensive player of the year last year

I know nothing about the draft, college players or minor leaguers but it seems to me that the best way to draft is up the middle in the first round. I know BPA is always the way to go but position is an important factor in reaching the BPA conclusion.

Maybe Hahn should ask Theo who he would take? #IanHapp

You are using Ian Happ as an example of success?

.784 OPS from a rookie ain't too shabby. ?

Dropping like a rock once he provided a little bit of scouting.

At least you stopped saying he was a poor fielder, baby steps.

Oh, you are referencing the time I not only wrote it but backed it up with scouting analysis...but, but, but...he plays five positions!

That's a low bar to clear. He has no chance at staying at 3B. None.

Every report I read on him says basically the same thing. Great bat. Questions on defense. Not saying he won't stick at 3B, but that is where the weaknesses are for him. He seems like a great character guy with a work ethic that is second to none.
Quote:
Defense: Question is whether he’ll be limited to 1B or if he can stick to 3B. His body type screams 1B, but he has decent enough mobility where he should be able to stick at 3B. He has the work ethic that he can tireless improve his glove there and with better conditioning could add a step or two to his range.

3 Luis Gonzalez OF New Mexico
4 Lincoln Henzman RHP Louisville

Gonzalez looks really intriguing, 1.000+ OPS with natural CF athleticism/instincts and only a 11% K-rate. A lot like Alex Call last year.

Henzman is another Louisville closer.

Love the Henzman pick if they turn him back into a starter.

 He probably has a better chance at staying at third than Tim Anderson does of staying at short.

Ha. The Sox took Skoug. No chance in hell he can catch but the little shit can hit. He probably ends up in LF because he's too short for 1B.

I didnt really like the second rounder, but everything else seems legitimately exciting. That guy they got from South Carolina throws 100, Skoug is a top 50 talent (apparently)...hopefully they all sign.

I didn't like it either. They drafted the same guy with the first two picks. One from the right side and one from the left.

The top 10 round guys most likely had pre-draft deals in place so they should all sign.

A return of Harvey's wallbangers if all these big bodied home run hitters pan out

Yeah I was looking over the draft results and Skoug was ranked as the 48th best prospect in the draft....yet the Sox got him in the 7th round? How does that happen? Is he hurt or something?

Probably had a deal in place with the White Sox and made it clear he wouldn't be signing elsewhere. I think that situation applies to most players drafted after the 3rd round or so.
