How did this course get a US Open?

Apparently it has to be windy for it to be tough.

It was challenging from about 10-3 today.

Koepka hit 62 of 72 greens in reg. Mercy.

If somebody does that, the course doesn't matter.

I don't know much about golf but I watched a lot of it this weekend because the course is about an hour and half away from where I live. I guess the last 3 Open winners didn't even qualify this year and some kid won today? I guess if I learned anything, it's this....
That's a lot of walking.

Because he went to Oklahoma State. Been wearing orange on sundays in honor of his alma mater ever since he turned pro.

These guys are really good. With the soft conditions and little wind the course was pretty open to be taken advantage of. It is too
bad really. The USGA rolled the dice and tried to do something a little different. My guess is that it won't ever come back to this
course but they made it look much easier than it is. I did think it was a pretty fun course to watch on TV and it looked to be in
perfect condition. They closed it last fall and was not open all this season in anticipation.

This is going to be one of the worst US Opens in history. Course is way too easy. I'm not surprised, I've played it twice and its really not that hard a course. My buddy who is about a 5-6 index has shot mid 70's both times we've played there.

The weakest part of Erin Hills are the greens. They are extremely benign and pretty slow. Throw in massive fairways, lack of wind and the fescue being mowed back and this is shaping up to be an embarrassment for the USGA. Winner will probably end up somewhere around -15 to -20.

Called it, -16 for the winner of a US Open that will always have an asterick by it. They should've just called this the John Deere Classic because that's basically what it was.

I'd actually like to see the BMW consider adding it to the rotation. One year Conway Farms or Medinah, the next year somewhere in Indiana,
following year in Wisconsin.
