I heard there was a big announcement about the future of the Score coming during the 8:00 hour and couldn't listen. Anyone know what it was?

For the record, in case anyone missed it. Singleton got a job at Baseball Tonight and Stone moves into the booth next to Farmer.

Farmer won't be able to take it too long. Somebody that actually knows more than Farmeo won't set well with him.

What the hell is ESPN thinking?

The talent pool is getting thin as everyone else has been fired for sexual harassment

Did North say he was being considered for the job, but took himself out of the running so he could concentrate on making his show better? (For those who don't recall, that's what he said when they hired Singleton.)

Excellent. This is just great. If they eliminate three more members of the broadcast "talent" I may actually be able to listen to the games I watch.

I would love to see Farmer try the shit with Stone that he did to Singleton.

God this is great news! Sox radio broadcasts will be semi-listenable again! Fantastic!

This is probably why Stone will be doing his weekly reports with Mulli and Hanley.

This is the best news I've heard all day! :D

Now if only they would get rid of Farmer.....

Great, Captain Obvious is now joined by Sgt. Second Guess. Stone is so painfully overrated, it amazes me the following he has.

He's only overrated in Chicago, the rest of the country isn't impressed, including ESPN.
I agree with you about him being Captain Obvious. He's a smug, thin skinned jerk. I don't think Ozzie will find his "so called" wit very entertaining. It might create some fun though.

Stone over Singleton any day of the week. I have no idea why anyone would have taken Singleton for a national show.

I have a feeling these are going to be some painful broadcasts ahead - two massive egos in the booth.

Then again, Ozzie doesn't have the common sense God gave a gerbil...so that's not saying much.

I'm sorry, the Captain Obvious tag goes to Tim McCarver.
I just don't understand all of the Stone angst. He's smug, but I still believe that he can paint a pretty quality picture.
As for Ozzie, his feuds with Eddie Munster and Mikey have some merit. Stone might be critical, but I've always thought that he provided a reasoned defense for his comments.

I agree, but the angst comes from the Kool-Aid drinkers who don't like it when 'their guy' deviates from the marketing approved script. The same will happen from a certain segment of the Sox fan base this year as well.

It's funny, get drunk, nutty and pissed behind the mike (Piersall & Harry) and certain types love you and long for you 30yrs removed, but if you're analytical & detached when you make your criticisms -- look out.

I liked Harry and Jimmy. They were edgy, and I believe they broke down situations. Harry became more of a gimmick during his Cubs days.
I enjoyed Hawk and Don Drysdale, but Ken has assumed that apologist role. I can't stand him now.
Chip was too smoochy during his early days with the Cubs, and I think he's much better now.
I really enjoy Len and Bob -- can't say the same about the radio duo. I disliked the radio and tv guys with the White Sox. I'm not a big fan of Farmio, but I think Stoney will hold my attention a little longer. I didn't mind Hawk with Steve. Hawk couldn't bully him.

Agreed wholeheartedly as to Harry and Jimmy...

Now if DJ would just go away and let someone like say Tommy John to step in and take his place,....and then Farmer gone as well. :D

Stone was a great in-game analyst, no doubt. But he sounds like a bitter, pompous blowhard with B&B.

He is just that. He found out the rest of the baseball world doesn't share the opinion of his greatness. This is a good job for him though because it is the only one that really wanted him.

If B and B are blowhards, what does that make Mike North? A hurricane of misinformation?

Don't forget, he's an assistant coach for a high school basketball team. That must count for as much as staying at a Holiday Inn Express.
