I know all the cool kids at the SCORE like to piss on this game. I still like it. Plus there is nothing else on tonight.

If the game is boring we always can make fun of Joe Buck.

Remember when there used to be a real rivalry between the leagues? Or at least among the fans. I remember NL-AL arguments getting pretty heated. When did that stop--like in the 90s?

I once killed a National League guy.

Just kidding. I don't remember it being heated. I was a kid in the 90s. So maybe before that. I have heard Hawk talk about how the players took it seriously in the 50s and 60s. Each League really wanted to win this game.

Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ ... just once ... ONCE ... somebody please just sing the fucking song like a human and then quietly go away.

First time in my lifetime the fans did a good job voting the starters.

Harper isn't wearing an undershirt. I don't think I've ever seen a ball player do that. I would think the fabric of the jersey would be itchy.

"A-Rod's on-field interview brought to you by Dunkirk, in theaters starting July 14th."

Weird.

FOX has to make money. Ratings are down for this game. So they have to do more "In game" ads. That A-ROD spot was probably work 500k for FOX.

Nah. You're probably wrong about that.

Somehow Carlos Martinez is an all star this year but not Bryant.

Can't believe we got to the 3rd inning before hearing Oscar Tavares' name.

At least 300k. How much do you think the movie studio paid for that? I mean it's during the game and interviewing a guy on deck. That's valuable. People flip during real commercial breaks.

I don't care ... let him have time off ... he's done no better than Lamb, Arenado, or Shaw anyway.

Ok. It was free. FOX did it cuz the FOX people like the movie.

You obviously don't understand how advertisement works and what that was worth.

You spent your entire life playing baseball and are now playing in the All Star game. Instead of letting you enjoy this potentially once in a lifetime opportunity , we're going to mic you up and force you to talk to Joe Buck.

What? You do understand that FOX pays MLB a lot of money. The players benefit from that money. They've all agreed to cooperate in an all star game because it's a show and the players want to help. Bigger ratings means more money for the next FOX contract. Which means more money for the players.

Plus exposure for the players helps their personal brand. So if people see them on this big stage it helps them. So they smile and do the interview in a game that doesn't matter.
