Good catch Dr. Ken.

The point is that Singleton is good at explaining the game .

The point is, that if he were good at it, you would not need to tell us. We would already know.

He is not and you have limited credibility in making the point, so it is time to stop.

North today said he had a message for Singleton, and played a drop of Trump saying "You're fired." I think it was right around 8:13.

Ranger, of course I could be wrong. I think I'm pretty close to the truth however.

My theory is much more "plausible" and "probable" than the nice neat way the White Sox packaged this. Don't be naive Ranger. It certainly didn't go down the way they said it did.

By the way, you shouldn't take offense to my theory anyway Ranger. I think this was very admirable of the Sox to do it this way. I'm all for Reinsdorf deceiving for the greater good. I compliment him. He gave Sox fans what they wanted and helped out Singleton in the process. It was a nice thing. Not evil.

You watch Ranger, Reinsdorf will leak the truth to a writer in a year or so. It will be close to my theory if not exactly my theory.

Since we are speculating here... Do you guys think Stone is going to be gromed to become KW's replacement if the season goes down the tubes again?

I agree with that statement if a guy is good or bad, we don't need someone to tell us, we know it. Singleton was bad, but we also know Farmer is an asshole.

Listening to Farmer try to say nice things about Singelton was one of the most least convincing statements I have ever heard.

I wonder how long it will take stone to smack farmer when ed comes with that attitude that he gave chris. Ed is about to be schooled.

I hope Stone throws him out of the booth. Then again, Farmer would float with all the hot air he blows...

Ranger, I have a suggestion for you. You're gonna like it.

To prevent Stone from having to do play by play, suggest to the powers that you could spell Farmer for 1 or 2 innings. Farmer can go grab a beer for an inning or two and rest. The Cubs do this with their pre game guy. He even travels to road games just for 1 inning of duty.

Now, they're not gonna pay for you to travel for road games. Stone will have to do it on the road. You could do this for all home games. I'd rather hear you do an inning of play by play than force Stone to learn the craft.

You do this for a few years. You get good. Then, they fire Farmer and you're the new full time announcer for the Sox. It's perfect.

Will you ask to do this Ranger?

Why do we have to suffer through "a few years" of Farmer?

Here is a better idea, fire Farmer at the end of the year and bring back Rooney who is in the last year of his contract, so at least the radio side of their broadcasts are done by professionals.

That is better. But Reinsdorf would rather get Ranger on the cheap than to pay Rooney what he wants. Ranger will take it on the cheap. It's his way in the door. You don't turn down that opportunity. Then, when Ranger gets good and demands more after his first contract, the Sox won't want to pay, and Ranger gets hired by the Cardinals for big money just like Rooney.

Dolphin, don't be such a d**k.

BD, I love you. Of course ultimately I'd love to be in the baseball broadcast booth, but those jobs are hard to come by. By the way, Farmer and Stone should be fun to listen to.

As for the Singleton thing, of course your scenario is possible, however I happen to know for a fact that it did not go down like that. I really can't get into all of the details, but I've gotten every side of the story and it's not too far from what you've read. Chris was presented an opportunity and asked for permission to take it.

He wasn't being a dick. He was stating the opinion of the vast majority of Sox fans and what many consider to be a self-evident truth.

The fact that you can't recognize the validity of this perception doesn't speak well for you.

At the very least, Ranger, you have to admit this thread has been more entertaining and interesting than an off season edition of White Sox Weekly.

I know MLB announcing jobs are hard to come by Ranger. I'm serious when I say you should offer to do an inning of "play by play." Show the initiative. Worse thing that happens is they say no. You'll still continue talking to drunk Sox fans on the post game show. Maybe they say yes. You'll never know if you don't ask.

Maybe put on your best suit and ask Reinsdorf personally. That would impress the Chairman. It's about time you meet Reinsdorf anyway.

So, are you gonna do it?

Somewhat like what the Cubs do with Cory Provus. He takes over an inning for Pat Hughes (usually during the fifth inning I believe).

I know. They take that guy on road trips to do 1 inning per game. That's amazing.

Like I said, Reinsdorf won't pay for Ranger to travel but he could do the home games.

It won't be a lot of money. They are already paying for the plane and the bus. They don't have to pay for the hotel. They could just put Chris in Stone's room. I'm sure only one of them will mind.

Ranger could not do worse than Farmer.

Farmer stepped all over Stone and sometimes it was like he was not listening to Stone because he would make the same statement twice waiting for Stones repsonse. Even though Stone has already responded.

Stone could really bring the attention to how much of a duetschbank Farmer is.

They are aware that I'm willing to help out in any way I can. We'll see what happens.

I've never worn a suit any of the times I've talked to Reinsdorf. Maybe I should.

It's actually Scully with a "c". Just think about how Vin looks like those little grey aliens that Mulder and Scully used to chase around on the X-Files, and you'll be fine. Instead you're probably picturing how his head looks like a skull. It's a common mistake.

Ranger, here is my tip. Got some great jokes for Reinsdorf if you want to kiss up. Trust me on this one. it works for Farmer.

I said GOOD jokes

But being a Cub fan I am probably just saying this because I hate everything Sox and I know Reinsdorf hates Jokes and will then fire Rongey. right Sox fans?

You do seem preoccupied with Reinsdorf, Williams, and Guillen. As a stated Cubs fan it wouldn't be your '05 World Series envy showing, would it?

1. "Stated Cubs Fan?" where was that? seems that most of your recent psosts are White Sox comments and I can't seem to find your Love of the Cubs?
2. Seems that Most of your comments are responding to me? So who is precoccupied.

Jerry R. - Great guy, brilliant, powerful, tries to do what is right. Would make a great baseball comimish (some say he is already), yet, still does not make him right all the time.

Ozzie- Never said a bad thing about him. Actually, Sox fans says bad things about him.

Kenny- Even with all the crap I have said about him, he did a good job this year of rescuing his offseason plan to the point of giving his team a chance. I don't think it is a good chance, but it is a chance.

if you need to call that Preoccupied, fine.

I look forward to seeing all your future posts in the Cubs section. Being a "STATED CUB FAN" and all.
