Great hieroglyphics in the cave. Nothing like seeing the common enemy illustrated so perfectly on the walls in chalk. Snow sealed the alliance by showing Dany those cave drawings.

They almost looked like an Iron Maiden album cover depicting their mascot, "Eddie".

I don't like to Google spoilers, book info, etc. but I take it we still don't know for certain whether Jon Snow bent the knee? When Jon and Dany emerged from the cave, it was not answered either way?

Still, good episode and the battle scene was great. However, with that dragon in the mix, she really didn't have to lose that many Dothraki in battle.

I honestly thought, She indirectly asked him to marry her. She said something like, "If you were King"...or something like that.

I thought that would be the outcome as well. "The only way I'm bending the knee is when I ask you to wed and join the houses of Stark and Targaryen."

In true Targaryen fashion, the nephew marries his aunt.

Technically, wouldn't he be next in line for the throne as well? He is the son of the crown prince.

Depends. Technically, wouldn't he still be a bastard?

Yes he would.

It'll be nice to see him riding the dragon named after his father.

Didn't Missandei say something about there are no bastards or it isn't recognized or something to that effect?

Where she comes from, marriage doesn't happen. So, not sure.

Rhaegar and Lyanna were married.

I'm not so sure. Would two members of the Kingsguard really stay at the tower to guard the Prince's side chick and his bastard baby? I think he secretly married Lyanna.

Maybe so. That'd be great.

So, this is what Bran wants to tell Jon?

I believe he will be seen when Cersei buys his mercenaries and brings them over to Westeros.

going back to reading articles--i like that pretty much everything critical of this season has been the insane teleportation abilities these armies have. one minute you're in one part of the world, and the next, boom, you're thousands of miles away. it's a completely just criticism. and i just wonder why they felt the need to shorten these last seasons. there are plenty of storylines that could have been embellished rather than rushed...which is kind of how some of this feels.

i still have really enjoyed this season thus far. but guess what--it's just about over already. when it's all said and done, this could be a huge calculation error or tyrion proportions.

That, and he saw him fuck in a cave.

Great episode

Jon is an heir to both Ice and Fire...and possibly not even a bastard, if Rhaegar and Lyanna had a secret wedding.

This should be an awesome scene next week

I don't think so as it is believed that Lyanna likely eloped with Rhaegar. The story of her being kidnapped may not be true as the victors write the history. Before the R+L=J theory was confirmed, many speculated (and this is still likely and possible) that Lyanna ran off with Rhaegar on her own accord. Robert said she was abducted as his pride wouldn't allow him to say she left on her own.

If they keep this up for the rest of the episodes this becomes my favorite TV show of all time.

Except for Ghost. What the fuck HBO! Show him in the background or something.

You rarely see the direwolves on this show as the cost of rendering them on screen is in the 6 figures each time they do it.

Unlike the dragons, they aren't that important for the story.

Put a white husky in the background and use some creative cinematography to make it look large. I just want them to acknowledge he's alive :(

Davos gets the best lines of the episode.
The Brienne/Arya spar was fun, but I'm looking forward to the Arya/Mountain fight.

No matter how good the rest of the show turns out (and this season has been excellent so far), there's simply no way GoT can be my favorite show ever simply because of the whole Theon weewee mutilation subplot, which seemed to go on forever.

The Bran theory of him being ALL the Brandon Starks throughout history was floated last year I think. I really hope that's not true.

That's a valid criticism. The show did move at a slow pace for a while which is actually somewhat interesting given the current season is packing in more major developments than multiple seasons did. The episodes they've already done could have been a whole season.

I think they were stalling a bit for a time while George was writing his books. It didn't help that the books split the timeline and dealt with some characters only and then the next book dealt with the other characters on the same timeline. Not good books, BTW.

Now, I feel like they are just done with the show and they are racing to the finish. They've given up on Martin and the books being finished and just want it over. Not a criticism because they are really getting to it. This season has been very good so far considering the beginning of seasons are usually pretty slow. I'm excited about what is to come.

Last season began to pick up steam, and it was pretty much at a point where they passed the timeline in the books. You're right, the last two books were trash, and it makes sense that bringing that trash to tv would also be slow and boring.

I hope Martin dies before the books are ever finished.
