Here's my take on it and I said this directly to Chus. IMU said some dumb shit and everyone thought it was dumb. But then Chus did the same thing that he did with Scorehead. He actually convinced himself that Scorehead owed him $1000.00 and he just wouldn't let it go. If Scorehead posted, "I like the way Schwarber looks in left", Chus replied, "Where's my grand, you loser?" That becomes tiresome for everyone who posts here and ultimately it caused Scorehead to quit the board. I don't see that as a great thing. In this case he convinced himself that IMU's stupid comment put his family under siege. If you read his responses without knowing you might have gotten the impression that IMU had his home surrounded with a small army. When guys like Hank and Dennis who don't exactly court controversy are annoyed enough by your actions that they say something, maybe you should stop and consider what you're doing.

Look, I don't know what Chus' end-game was, but it seemed to me he wanted to shame me away from the board. Then petition to get me banned from the board. After those failed attempts, he felt he had egg on his face and walked away?

He wanted to get personal with me. Not extremely accurately, but still not something I'm going to put up with. Was ripping on him not supporting his family and ignoring his kid dumb shit? Not sure I agree. Him trying to spin it as if I was attacking his kid? He needed to say whatever he could to turn it around on me. Because when the cards were out on the table, he didn't want to play the hand.

I didn't try to chase him away. I don't give enough of a shit about him for that. But he wanted everyone to hate me and then got upset at the community and the admins when it didn't happen.

Come back, Chus. Your posts on this board are the biggest impact you'll make in a society.

(SIGH) It's not that we're happy Chus left, but...there's a sense of...I want to say, almost a sense of relief that we can move on from one of the many...the many trappings, chasing people on the board, doxxing highly respected board members, posting Seinfeld quotes, and it's just that...all these things add up to this early 00s message board wild west mentality that seeks to fight with anonymous internet people.
Well, people aren't really anonymous here anymore, as we're finding out, and so now with Nas in charge, along with JORR, it'll be easier to...to make that break, I guess is how you could say it. Of course we felt the same way when Irish Boy left, and of course, we were all publicly maudlin about what a great person he was -- and he was--I guess--you know I don't do sentimental... but...(sigh) in a lot of ways it's one fewer... "thing" to have to explain away all the time as we're moving into the CFMB's new era.

It's just a shame RPB came back.

Seriously, I think this needs to be said in light of certain things JLN and Chus wanted to happen in separate situations. It should be obvious to everyone that we don't take a heavy-handed approach in moderating this board. I would think that after all the complaints about bigfan that would be appreciated.

The problem with heavy moderation is that it becomes a matter of choices. The three of us have discussed this extensively. For example, Nas was never extremely disturbed by racist posts. (He obviously knows there are racists in the world and some post on message boards.) What pissed him off was when things that weren't as offensive were deleted while that other shit was left to stand. Those are editorial decisions. And by removing one and not the other you are giving tacit approval to the one that remains.

We've clearly made the decision to allow you guys to police the forum yourselves for the most part. There have been very few things that we have removed. JLN, we aren't giving tacit approval to doxxing. Chus, we don't approve of people attacking family members. We simply aren't interventionist gods.

I can agree with most of this.

The IMU and $1000 thing spilled across MANY threads, and became annoying. One of the problems with this board-- and I do this myself sometimes-- is that some people have an impossible time walking away from an 'argument.' Sometimes its best to log off for a bit, be it a few days or a few hours, and let cooler heads prevail. The $1000 thing became annoying, but Scorehead himself replied with that number directly to Chus when Chus asked him to name the terms. SH easily could have walked away or replied differently. I'm not absolving Chus because he did go after SH pretty good and it did get tiresome. However, keep the revisionist history out of this particular event. Scorehead made his own bed with that.

I hope CHUSE is just taking a hiatus and is not gone for good. It appears Scorehead is GONE, but if he were to come back I think there are very few people (if any) that would mind.

So that is Frank's $0.02 that nobody cares about.

Tis a pain in the arse moderating a board. Did it years ago on a much smaller board and eventually every moderator quit. We didn't own the board but were asked to by the owner to moderate it and run a tight ship. His dad and another poster were the biggest pain in the asses and we would have to constantly issue warnings and delete things because the owner didn't want too much conflict as he was trying to monetize it (Was never going to happen, way to niche of an environment). Once you start deleting it gets hard to draw the line because one persons overly personal shot is anothers playful jab.

I just want to make it clear that Chus accepted the Tebow bet either when Tebow was announced that he was being cut or when he actually was cut. This was a major new piece of information that would have, in Vegas terms, taken the bet off the board. It was ludicrous to think that Scorehead was beholden to the bet for all eternity and it could be accepted at any time.
