Still under .200, still a negative WAR player. Should be in minors.

Seeing why he isn't in the minors ,the upcoming & most likely popular, Schwarbs(Babe Ruth) lunch bag day could not be taken off the promo schedules. Nice to see the Spiegs doppelgänger get his own day before he is out of the league in a few years.

Lol. Not sure what a cuck is, guess I could google it but I don't give a fuck.

No need to take a shot at me, you should be pissed at your boy whose average and WAR fell even lower.

Theo/the Cubs brass really need to apologize to baseball for ever comparing this sub average player to Babe Ruth. Dumbest thing anyone has ever said.

Yep. Schwarber is one of the most monumental busts in the history of sports. He'll go down with LaRue Martin and Tim Couch as a generational turd.

This is a joke, right?

There are literally hundreds of guys who never had ANY success at the MLB level. Schwarber had two outstanding playoff performances including a World Series win.

Also, did Cubs brass call him Babe Ruth? I thought that was a Bernstein thing?

I think the Ruth thing came from some jerkoff scout, Zielinski maybe.

The best part is that Schwarber comes off as a huge jackass. It's also hilarious he and Heyward get so much "credit" for the World Series when you have two all time great Cubs on the roster who kind of get treated like they were just kind of there.

Not sure I agree. I think Lackey and Ross get their fair share of credit.

Spiegel (FWIW) basically confirmed by his answer/nonanswer during a "Can't Do It" segment that Theo was in fact, the "somewhat drinky" exec who first made the comment at function.

Oh my god! An executive used hyperbole!

I'm sure he really thought Schwarber was gonna be the next Babe Ruth.

It IS possible that 5 or 10 years from now we can say Schwarber was a monumental bust overall for his career. That doesn't take his ring away or the contributions he made to a Championship team in that series.

I think we can all agree he's not as much of a butcher in the outfield now. I still think the kid will hit. He's Matt Stairs.

It's very possible. He could wind up just being remembered for his two playoff performances.

This is where I remind you all that Schwarber is still only 24 years old, playing in his 1st professional season. He may turn it around after this year, he may not. Hilarious some of you are sticking for fork in him.

I knew when to give up on Brett Jackson. You need to know when to give up on Kyle Schwarber.

There is no comparison between the two. Kyle has demonstrated MLB success. Jackson didn't. Awful post. This is why I want to trade you to the subdivision for Keyser.

I was ridiculed for saying that was his ceiling two years ago. Back then he was "fuckin' Babe Ruth" and Stairs would have been a huge disappointment. Now it appears that him being close to as good as Stairs is a fantasy.

Send him back to the minors. In June, prior to his first demotion, he had a slash of .196/.327/.522 (OPS .849). In August, he's at .226/.314/.452 (OPS .766) and has struck out 18 out of 31 at-bats.

The morale on the team can't be good when guys play who don't deserve to, especially when they are perceived to be Theo's pet.
