I don't know what LaStella's contract situation is, but he's pretty damn good and he's only 28.

Edit: can't do a poll in the Cubs section.

Don't lash out at me because you're bored and drunk and talked yourself into Lastella being as good as Baez and Russell

Russell seems like a stroke and a half and he will only get worse with time in that department. I would look to move him for a starting pitcher that doesn't suck like Quintana. Archer for Russell...lets dance tampa.

If I'm not mistaken, La Stella has the highest second half OBP on the Cub. That's what Bernstein said, anyway.

He really should be starting somewhere.

LaStella is your replacement for Zobrist.

I want Russell to come back and show that he is healthy. Then part of me thinks he is the best trade piece for a quality cost-controlled starter. Baez at SS, some combination of Happ and LaStella at 2B.

But, that means you really don't have a backup SS, do you have to find a bench guy. I'm not really fond of that at all in today's 4 man bench game.

So I grudgingly go Russell at SS, Baez at 2B.

I'm surprised at La Stella's career stats (how low they are). It seems like whenever he gets a chance, he tears the cover off the ball.

His numbers this year are terrific, with just over 100 PA's.

I guess I'm more comfortable having LaStella not starting but able to come off the bench as part of a double-switch or defensive replacement ... I want Happ starting.

JD just referred to La Stella's at-bat as a "clinic."

LaStella is the perfect bench guy to have.

He is not an every day player

Baez and Russell is the only answer here. Either at 2B and SS.
