Maybe I am lucky, maybe I missed it, but I just caught the tail end of The Swirsk stopping in and he starst to send Kudos to Mike, which made me sick, but Mike responds with "I Guess you don't read my emails?"

Rock, I thought you said that most of the Emails are Positive? I thought it was just us 5 guys on the board that don't like That Shwo you Asistant Produce?

Maybe Mike does make some cash for the station, but can you imagine what they might do with a show the fans like?

I thought it was amusing that the station that "talks Bears while that other station is talking Washington Nationals baseball" just did a whole segment with Swirsky on Toronto Raptors basketball.

Swirsky was a Chicago guy right back about a decade ago ? I think so, so it makes sense for him to stop in since he's probably a voice people recognize on a sports talk show (insert joke here)....
Now that he's in the studio, what did you want to talk about ? His opinions on the night life in Toronto ? Seriously, the Bulls are playing Toronto tonight, I wish there was more NBA talk (or at least once in awhile), and it's still better than Springsteen debate.

I don't really disagree with you, I just said it was "amusing." Despite the Score's digs at "the other station," there are times when you don't want to do Bears 24/7 and get a little national perspective on other things. And yes, give me Swirsky and Raptors talk over an Annie Springsteen lovefest any time.

Swirsk is the King of Sports Talk in Chicago. Didn't hear what Mike was talking about as I just cant seem to stay tuned in for more than 30 seconds, but Sunday Nights, WCFL(I think it was WCFL?) AM 1000- was the very first Sports talk I ever heard hosted by Swirsk.

I think he was still at that station when he started doing Live Shows from "The Thirsty Whale" or maybe he moved on to WLUP at that time?

Also had the first bit, BUFFOON OF THE WEEK.

I agree...I haven't listened that much in the past week, but I figured with the Bears on a bye, you'd hear a lot of stupid/boring Bears topics..A little national talk is fine by me once in a while.

I thought Chuck Swersky was the name of one of the Super Fans on SNL.

Joe Mantegna as Bill Swerski, the #1 fan of Da Bears, was the first host of the Superfans when it first aired on SNL in 1991. When the sketch returned five months later, George Wendt took over hosting the show as Bob Swerski due to his "brudda Bill's frequent heart attacks."

By the way, I see Joe Mantegna occasionally and he still does a pretty mean Bill Swerski
