Good color commentary tonight.

He's becoming a bit of a rules elitist. Take the Brady illegal forward pass where he says if any part of his body is behind the line of scrimmage it is a legal pass -- only it is clear he is a yard over the line, so that doesn't really matter. I guess you have to say something, but judicating imaginary plays isn't really that interesting.

They did a bit where Houston was closing a hole and covering the outside -- that was interesting. Need more stuff like that.

If only the City of Houston could have done that...

That's the entire basis for this message board!

He was running cover for the Patriots all night last night. Iirc he was solid 5-6 years ago or whatever. He's pretty awful now.

My opinion as well.

I blame it on associating with ND. It turns anyone with a claim to it into a douche

People who complain about sports announcers have unresolved social issues.

That's a dumb take. Maybe if you changed complain to obsess or something it would make sense. Otherwise, it's just like any other thing people who consume will have opinions about.

Really as long as they aren't oppressive, which none of the national TV guys are, its fine. You're just frustrated at the game for some reason and are taking it out on the two stiffs in the booth.

My advice for those who do not like what Cris Collinsworth has to say is to acquire some friends to watch the game with.

I really don't know what you're even trying to say here. Frustrated at the game? Look at my posts the last 12 hours.

Acquire some friends?

Once again, it's really just as simple as watching/listening to different announcers and preferring some over others. The way you are overthinking this is way more odd than anything you're projecting on to us.

Yes he is.

He's awful, but still the best in the business.

I don't care about some guy who is calling peewee football.

Collinsworth is the best in the pros, and that is a sad statement to be making.

He sucks and he's always sucked. For some reason people seemed to like how he'd rant about the officials even when it was irrelevant or go in on players compared to guys like Gruden who do actually love everyone, so now the mere fact that he mixes in dumb hate with dumb love gets him plaudits for "keeping it real."

My favorite was last year's opening game when he was ripping the Panthers for kicking a field goal with 14 seconds left in the game because it would be a huge mistake to give the ball back with so much time left to Gary Kubiak's offense.
