No, but anytime an offense loses its number 1 WR, they lose him plus everyone else on the offense gets a little bit worse. Look at GB when Jordy was gone the year before last.

They didn't have a good RB to keep defenses honest.

why in the hell would any team need 5 TEs?

Special teams? Injured o-line? Otherwise I dunno

Thompson looked pretty decent at times and, really, who knows. This time last year nobody would've guessed Cam Meredith would've been considered a major part of this offense.

I'll remember next year to compare a returning Cam Meredith to Jordy Nelson, see how you take it.

He's not as good as Jordy, but it seems odd to ignore my point and focus on that comparison.

Also, I wouldn't flip out if you did compare the two. They are entirely different WRs but I'm a bigfan of Meredith. He's going to have a very good 10-12 year career.

Good point. I think the drastic difference in QB between both teams makes up for that though.

Two TE sets are going to be the norm for this team.

What I don't understand is keeping five and a FB. There should be one of those TE who can fill the limited role.

Meredith was a second year player who had switched from his college position. Thompson and Bellamy are WR with track records in this league.

How can a team so devoid of WR talent afford to carry both Bellamy and Thompson? The special teams will be meaningless if you can't move the ball.

I think you'll find your declaration that Meredith's production is replaceable not all that accurate. Kendall Wright will do what he can, but there's not one other guy on the roster to help him out.

I think it will be a different offensive configuration.

They have pretty good personnel for what Fox wants to run offensively: good and diverse RB group, deep TE talent and an OL that is strong in the middle

In the modern NFL you still need a playmaker on the outside, ESPECIALLY if you are trying to run that type of offense. I think the OL is solid enough and Howard is potentially a special back, so they won't be horrific offensively. But I think you are overestimating the TE talent. Zach Miller and Dion Sims are both average guys, and Miller can almost never stay healthy. The rookie is an unknown and the other two guys are close to being wastes of roster spots.

Fox has made the playoffs and super bowl with that style of play

pizza_Place: Anyplace we can sit together as a team
We had a great lunch today. The offensive linemen and linebackers shared some pudding.

It was a great takeaway from today's final get together.

Nobody asked why I was there. They didn't bother to cancel my ID.
