Rosati's varies greatly by location. I think they're franchised. The one in Carol Stream was one of my go-to's years ago, but the one by me now is awful. I'd rather have Pizza Hut.

I believe sometime in the early to mid 90s, a big chunk of the family (cousins/nieces/nephews) branched out using their Rosati name for free. They were looking forward more to making money instead of caring about quality. There are also a number of owners (non-family members) who spend their money on the name and unfortunately don't know and/or care about quality or customer service. This is pretty evident in AZ. Fortunately, there are a number of awesome Rosati stores in the valley run by Scott, who moved from Schaumburg in '85 (worked at a Rosati's there for years) and opened up the first Rosati's in AZ (Tempe).

I love their pizza. They don't skimp on cheese, sauce, and most importantly, ingredients. It sucks when someone tries Rosati's for the first time and end up at a bad one. Most write it off and never try another place thinking Rosati's is Rosati's is Rosati's.

Didn't another Scot(t) open a Rosati's in Arizona?

My wife's family was a big fan of Rosatti's as I think they were one of the few places that would deliver to their house in the early 80's. I thought it was the one on Randall rd but that was a heck of a hail to their house. Who knows. Looks like they are building one in Pekin, il. I'm sure it will be highest quality.

We had a good Rosati's by us for a while. Good thin crust.

Ownership changed and then it sucked.

One day last summer, I'm driving around some of the industrial areas of Houston for a trucking-related project work, and I get to one of the industrial parks along the waterway where I have to do a drive around and get some basic information about the roads. Right in front of the industrial park was a Rosati's. The funniest thing was that it was only open until 5pm and only open Monday-Friday. I guess their stock in trade was truck drivers dropping off containers who knew Chicago and recognized the name.

That place is right along Buffalo Bayou, so I suspect it got completely flooded to the roof.

It was probably one of the shitty Rosatis.

Went to a wedding in Lincoln Park last Saturday. Stayed overnight and was told I had to check out Chicago Oven & Pizza Grinder Co. It was like 2 blocks from the hotel so we gave it shot. There's lots of good reviews out there, but this place sucked hard. It was packed at 11:00 AM, so I was feeling good going in. This shit was bland as fuck. Did this place make bigfan's PIZZA RANKINGS list?

I've always wanted to try them. Looks almost like soup.

On a different pizza note, I had sworn off chain pizza for a long time, but had Little Caesars recently... I gotta say, for five bucks a pizza, you could do a hell of a lot worse. In fact, it was pretty good. Go ahead and mock, assholes.

It was almost like a soup, but everything in it was so bland. The sausage tasted like unseasoned ground beef, and their "door knob" sized mushrooms were barely the size of a cabinet knob. And there was only 2 mushrooms in my order, lol. It was a unique dish, but was just terribly underwhelming.

It's still crazy that Lou Malnati's won this poll. Very good deep dish. Terrible thin crust.

They had an old guy that was the maitre d for years. He'd ask how many people in your party and give you a time, usually like two hours. No names given. He always remembered the order in his head. it was pretty cool. Did you have the little pizza pot pie thingy or an actual pizza? We used to get the pot pies, some kind of flat bread and a salad. It was good...in 1996. Haven't been back since.

I get Leash. Living in Pizza no man’s land like I’d do I get it. I sometimes say to myself something I have here is pretty good. But I really know inside I am lying to myself and would take any Chicago joint in a minute. Oh for normal oven baked flat with square pieces and no pepperoni.

He's still there.

I've had it and it was o.k., didn't think it was worth the wait.

I don’t think so but there are quite a few in AZ. The Scott I know has 4 locations.

Agree, Fox's pizza is solid, very thin, but nothing unique or special.

Why is that hard to understand? When people rate Lou's they are usually only talking/rating based on the deep dish. So it makes sense it would win or be very high in the polls since the deep dish is pretty great.

Agreed. Giordano's thin crust is garbage as well.....we don't get it for the thin crust. it shouldn't be a factor.

I said very good, not great. Lou's isn't even the best deep dish, and they are somewhere slightly north of Domino's for thin crust.

For the Lake County peeps (Boyd, Doug, delaney, anyone else?)
Are the Bill's Pubs (Grayslake/Mundelein?) still solid?
I haven't been to either one in years, but they were both among the best in Lake County AFAIC.
What about Wayne's in Grayslake, that was probably my favorite. Again, it's been years since I lived in Wisco from 2006-2018.
