This from the guy who once proclaimed that Memphis is a better city than Chicago!

I don't mind NYC pizza, but it's hardly at the top of the list of good food to be found there.

For the record, much of the East Coast is a festering craphole that should be immediately destroyed.

I don't know if you experience similar things, but when I lived on the East Coast, I missed everything about the Chicago area, including the pizza. Now that I live back in the Chicago area, I miss a lot of things about the East Coast, including the pizza. It's probably because my mom didn't love me enough.

She always seemed to have plenty of love to go around during our interactions.

I did visit that famous pizza joint in Brooklyn..Grimaldi's or something like that. Pretty damn good pizza. Coalfire in Chicago is similar.

But all in all, there is a TON of bad pizza sitting under heat lamps on the east coast. What is the matter with these people? and those caramelized NUT carts stinking up the downtown areas. barf.

Chicago doesn't really even try to compete but when they do they are just as good. Try New York Bagel and Bialy in Lincolnwood

I could get a quality bagel within 5 minutes anywhere. One place being as good wouldn't change that.

I just said Chicago is not trying to compete...but you can get a NYC level quality bagel if you look hard.

I can probably find a good pizza place somewhere in Iowa. It doesn't mean Chicago isn't better and Iowa isn't trying.

I always see people like "in New York you can get a slice for a dollar!" Yeah, I bet you get what you pay for, soggy floppy heat-lamp pizza. I'm walkin' here indeed.

New York pizza sucks.

New Haven pizza is delicious.

Sometimes they are used synonymously even though they shouldn't be.

There is one that has a bowling alley in Geneseo that we used to go with my sister in law and her kids when she'd come out to visit and I wasn't a huge fan of their normal pizzas there. Looked at their website and they are advertising using chorizo on their taco pizza. Has that always been the case or is this a special thing? Taco pizza is about the only pizza my daughter is interested in these days.

That is indeed a very tasty pizza, W_Z.
You are correct, sir.

Happy Joe's has the best taco pizza. We get it every time we visit my parents.

Squirrel - it does not normally have chorizo. Must be something new.

I've always wished that I had a good reason to go to New haven as an adult.

I think bowling alleys invented the cracker crust....or whatever it is called. Vito and Nick's crust.

New Haven itself is kind of crappy, but the pizza makes it all worthwhile.

It's really interesting to walk down the pizza street at about 5:00... HUGE lines of people waiting to get into all three of the big ones. They treat the customers like scum too.
