Now he's getting out of bed to sell cars. There has to be media work available.

Dino Costa was given an afternoon drive time show in Portland after getting booted out of St. Louis in less than 6 weeks, so there IS work for long time sports yakkers, but that would likely require him to relocate, which doesn't seem in the cards for him. He'll get a drive time show on the 3rd sports talker if and when that ever happens.

No. Probably a sponsor for his podcast. And he makes an appearance to shake hands. I doubt Da Ma Na is selling cars.

hey you got to do what you got to do anyway you got to do it to earn a living and support your family.

Doesn't Danny have a challenged child if I remember correctly?

Good for him taking jobs here and there. Lots of people in America since the 2008 crash have been living this way for almost 10 years.

Single mom/dad working 3 jobs to take care of their families seems to be the norm in a lot of places.

There is a Dan M on their sales staff per their site. No picture up to see if it's him or not

That station is not happening. Terrestrial radio is dying and the sports radio listenership pool is shrinking as it becomes more fractured and people are moving to XM or podcasts instead of their local over the air stations.

I'll tune into WMVP for a few hours each week and then it's podcasts or BBC World Service the rest of the way.

aren't xm/sirius doing bad too? Thru my boss I got a free 3 months from Sirius. I liked it but it would go out every time I was under a overpass or a hill/mountain was blocking the signal. So fragile technology.

true.

but in the present i guess he has to take what he can get to earn a living and support his family. I always thought he would be a good salesperson.

I think he would be great in tourism. There are guys who do commercial tourist videos out here. He would be great if he ever got the opportunity.

What a sellout. Almost makes me sick. Thankfully, it didn't because of the wonder drug Pepto Bismol. It's been there for my family for generations. And it's now available in a number of flavors. It's better than anything else on the market. Fuck Danny Mac (and then take some Pepto).

Selling cars is somehow a more honest living than radio.

Mitch offered him before Goff, but he walked away and went to WDRV. We all know how that turned out

Dan A. seriously needs to rethink that goatee. He looks like he just rimmed the Abominable Snowman.

I saw the link that Caller Bob originally posted from.

Looks like Dan has a really nice place. Got to be worth at least $1M.

When he was raking in $600K it probably was not even a thought paying the mortgage on that place. But now, he probably needs to work these type of gigs to make the payments. Just speculating.

Most people when they make big money allow themselves to be tempted into the high life lifestyle. They never consider the other side of the coin or prepare for it.

When the money is no longer there. then you got hard decisions to make - if you want to keep living that lavish lifestyle, then you got to find other ways to support that lifestyle, even do jobs that maybe you though once thought were beneath you. Or, you can swallow your pride and downgrade where you can live more comfy. But most of the time guys in this situation are too proud to do that.

I wonder if Dan had to do it over again would he really swallow his pride to keep these high paying gigs? Or is he just too proud?

If the rest of us were making 6/7 digit salary's, I'm sure we grin and bear having to work shit jobs or take shit from shit bosses or drive a shit commute.

Sometimes I dont understand the guy. I think he's a good person, I knew guys like him in my life, but for some reason he doesn't seem to have that one good friend to tell him straight or explain to him the bigger picture.

Stop with the dramatics. There is nothing wrong with whatever he is doing. He could be paying bills, he could be filling time, could be a number of things.

Nothing wrong with it but Mac laughed at $500k not long ago.

It's not always about money. Granted much of the time it is. I think he knows what he is worth and is comfortable going along with or walking away from various offers. From the outside it's surreal, but to him it's not.

I have no idea what his last settlement was but I'd bet it was at least close to the 250k he was going to be paid thru march of 2017. He's had a relationship with this car dealer for at least 20 years. He's had a lot of adjustments and upheaval since 2014. Show some compassion.

ya he has to do what he has to do. he has to support his family and he's doing it. I dont understand the hate against him but i can also see how he rubbed people the wrong way and why they don't wish good things for him. some of it is his own fault but can't fault a guy for trying to keep on supporting his family.

I haven't seen any hate yet and no one is knocking him for trying to support his family.

Nobody knows if it's a matter of supporting a family. I highly doubt he's in some dire situation. I'd agree he can be polarizing but he's been open about his issues.

I never listened to him on the score in the 90s. I loved MJH til about 07'. Anything after that was in my opinion awful. I find him to be a likable, talented, genuine, funny radio host. I hope he finds what he is looking for and what fits for him at this point.
