Yes because Michael Jordan showed great acumen when it came to acquisitions.

Yes that's definitely looking at it with hindsight.

Under Collins, Jordan was not buying into anything other than "Michael and the Jordanaires".

For whatever reason, Phil got him to believe in his teammates. Maybe it would've eventually happened with Collins as well but we'll never know. I do doubt it because as I said Doug was gonna burn himself out. He couldn't keep an even keel.

If Michael Jordan believed that Doug Collins was the problem he never would have hired him to be Wizards coach

It's like Jordan is a shitty GM, weird.

Because he was the #1 option. He's a solid #3 on a playoff team.

So we shouldn't just get the ball to Carmelo and get out of the way?

He should move out of the way for Westbrook and George.

Jimmy Butler is going to lead his team to the playoffs, and Carmelo is going to be, hopefully for LTG, a passable #3 option.

In his day he was a legit #1 on teams that made the playoffs his first 9 years in the league.

Without Hoiberg to blame I wonder where the scorn will be directed. Its going to be difficult to blame the almighty Thibs. This is one of sports greatest dilemmas currently. It is truly going to be great watching them struggle to 43 wins. Butler the leader the non champ will never make another all star team. This has to be a drain on his many legions of fans.

Kudos to Brick for his part in revitalizing one of this board's greatest threads. If he didn't I would've. It's on now.

Then he should have no trouble making the All Star team.

Apparently you do think I'm going out on a limb, since you're saying he will not make an ASG for the rest of his career. You also believe he was just piling stats on a bad team, which I guess you'd be an expert on given your Melo love.

Carmelo Anthony is a Hall of Fame player. Jimmy Butler isn't. Carmelo Anthony is a known difference maker. Jimmy Butler isn't.

Will Butler make the All Star team this season or not?

He was a legit #1 that chose money over winning even though he could have done both like LeBron.

I won't commit to naming an All Star for any one season due to injuries and what have you. But Butler will make at least two (2) more All Star teams, guaranteed.

Had he taken the deal you wanted him to take he'd have been screwed.

He would have gotten paid last year and the Bulls would have smoked the Cavs.

No he wouldn't. He was injured and there was no way a 31 or 32 year old guy coming off two years worth of surgeries was going to get paid max money.

He wouldn't have been injured playing with the Bulls. Besides a lot of BUMS got paid. They gave Deng $80M

Carmelo Anthony is an accomplished individual talent and a clear loser from a team success perspective.

He is a Hall of Fame player. Makes him more than simply a talent. Lance Stephenson was a talent whatever that means. Anthony's teams made the playoffs his first 9 years in the league and every team he has played on has improved record wise. That includes the Knicks.
