dont get me excited. ive never seen them win a championship, i dont remember 94 and 95 if was 4. if you jinx this your banned.

I'm with the kid on this...don't you dare jinx this!! I was 24 -25 for those championships. I had to cancel my Sports Illustrated subscription when they didn't give Houston the cover after their '95 win. Haven't bought one since. I lost my "Clutch City" video during the January flood.

I'm perfectly happy with ESPN et al giving no love to the Rockets...that's when they perform their best!!

I can't believe how old I feel now.

Oh, and I love you Rick. :P

You'd be correct. Too bad he doesn't post here anymore.

I knew you'd hate on them after their first loss. They won more games in that streak than 3 or 4 teams will this season total. It was a damn good streak. But I do agree they would get killed by the C's in a series. I still think if they managed to get the 1st seed, and Denver snuck by GS for the 8th seed, Denver wouldnt last till Game 6. Their defense is absolutely atrocious and I think they matchup very well against the Nuggets.

Let's just wait until the final day of the regular season and then we can all make our playoff predictions 8)

How bout what the Celtics did in the 2nd half of back to back games? Coming back from down 22 in SA to win, then winning by 20 after being tied at half with the Rockets. That dunk by KG was awesome.

"In my 11 years in the NBA, that's the best defense I've ever seen," Tracy McGrady said afterward.

Look, as much as you guys want to hate on Yao and say he's opened things up inside or whatever, the guy gives you two things no one else on that team can- an inside option when the outside shots aren't falling and a very solid option in a half-court type of game which is the norm in the playoffs. Yeah great, they have more room to spread their offense, but now it's just draw and kick. When Rafer Alston isn't dropping 31 and the 3's aren't falling, their offense is going to struggle like it did last night. We all know teams that heavily rely on outside shooting and 3's are eventually going to get exposed

Thats true but they play way better defense than most teams. From the few games Ive seen of them without Yao they just seem to have alot better ball movement and better defense, two things that I think are the most important in winning games. And TMac can be the go to guy at end of the game that you need to make plays. He played awesome on both ends in the 4th quarter against the Lakers. I dont think they are going deep, but I definitely think they can beat Denver, and I think they can beat GS or Dallas but itll be tougher. Either way I see them falling to a 4 or 5 seed by the end and losing in a tough series. But like you said we will need to see how it plays out before all the predictions can be made. If they lose 3 or 4 in a row we are back to the discussion of if they make the playoffs.

Ouch. I have no problem with his performance yesterday. He carried that team, and when his shot wasnt falling towards the end he did a great job of finding open teammates like Scola and Jackson who ended up missing FT's or getting the game tying shot negated by a Scola penalty. I think he did everything he could to win that game, but the talent gap between the two teams is enormous and the Rockets couldnt hit free throws and couldnt keep Utah off the offensive glass --- two things you absolutely need to do against a superior team.
