Two great cities. But Los Angeles Dodgers in 5. Astros fans will have to watch another team clinch early in the juice box.

Anyone remember 1980 NL West race? Dodgers were 3 back of the Astros with the final 3 games of the season in Dodgers Stadium. Dodgers won all 3 including the last game on a walk off, forcing game 163. Astros won game 163 and the division. Game 163 was a very rare thing back in the old baseball days. Whenever it happened it was like a gift from the baseball gods.

This reminded me of 1986 but thankfully the Gotham team got pumped this time

oh man that was a great series. no idea how the Mets won that one. Houston had it but choked it away. Mets were the team of destiny I guess (Game 6 WS).

Interesting to see so many Subdivision members who all year boasted about the "superiority of the American League" suddenly flip flop and give the ALCS Champs Astros zero chance. Sad.

Lasorda pitched Dave Goltz instead of Fernando Valenzuela, who was a late season call up.

Anything can happen in a 7 game series. As we saw last year.

I hope the Dodgers finish what the White Sox started and Harvey continued.

Looking up Houston on Baseball Reference and led me to look up Nolan Ryan. Guy never won a CY Young. Wouldn't have guessed that.

Unsurprisingly specious logic on your part. A league, in sum, can be better than the other, but the lesser league may have the better, single team. Happened all the time in the 70s. NL was far better league, but did not always win the WS.

I cant root for LA but also cant root for the Astros as I developed a not quite Cardinals level of hate for them in the 90s/2000s.

I choose not to watch.
